Well, It may not be the Holy Grail, but it comes pretty close.
September 12, 2009 update: *** SEE POST # 396 for latest (probably the last) CHART TEMPLATE UPDATES.
**** SEE UPDATED POST # 349 - dated September 3, 2009 for the LATEST HOLY GRAIL UPDATE …
It also shows the indicator panels & their settings. If it's still unclear, email me back & I'll try to be more concise in my explanation. Thanks for your interest.

Wiz, I changed my settings on DoubleMAPaint to calculate on close as suggested. I wonder are you seeing, even with this setting I am seeing the previous bar change colors on close of the current bar. Have you experienced that at all?
Yes. Rjay was the first to notice it. I contacted Sharky about it & he said that indicator was a collaboration between several programmers & considering the time it took to get it done, they probably won't want to delve back into it again to see what's causing the bar re-painting. I'm not a programmer & have no idea why it repaints. I use it in conjunction with the others to base my 'long' / 'short' decision on that & don't pay too much attention to "what was". I'll see if I can locate someone in the forum to take a look at this

First thanks to Wizard for sharing your method and your experience. This site is by far my favorite forum and the only one I participate in. I'm on vacation and for some reason I can't get historical data from zen-fire on my notebook, must be a bug with Ninjatrader I've asked in the NT support forums. Once I get my data then I will be checking it out but what bothers me is this bar repainting because if I go back over the past couple weeks I'm not going to see what i'd see in live trading.
I'm a programmer so I will try to disable this bar repainting and if I'm successful I'll post a fix for everyone. I'm happy to help however I can.
Great collaboration guys, keep it up. I'll participate more when I'm back from vacation later this week.
Thank you! I'm not a programmer either. I looked at the code, but could not determine (from my limited knowledge of indicator code) how to stop it from repainting. If you can get it to stop repainting the bar(s), I think we'll have a pretty good system. Thank you for your help.

Hello,
From what I understand, the problem with line painting as in part a Ninja problem.
There has been several coders that have tried to fix the problem but could not really do it.
Line painting currently requires two bars to make the color determination.
So sometimes the prior bar will change color when the current bar closes, if it closes in a position that effects the color change.(ie...not in the same direction.)
This should be fixed with NT7.
Thank you. I've looked very carefully at various indicators (in market replay) over the past few days, because this has been really bothering me. I've tried comparing code in indicators which don't seem to have that problem, but couldn't detect anything that might help fix the repainting problem in the DoubleMA Paint_Sharky indicators. I did notice the SAME problem in several different indicators. Sharky wasn't even aware of the problem until I pointed it out to him, which I learned about from Rjay. I hope this can be resolved in NT7. I still think I've got a solid system that can make us all some $$ without too much effort. Hopefully this can be corrected so that we don't have to deal with 'false' signals. Thank you for your post ! !

I have done a bit of testing on reproducing this problem. if this attached description were the source of the problem, I believe the repainting would happen on every reversal.
It does not!!!!!
It happens most often when the market reverses to the upside.
A simple solution for now, although a nuisance is just as the bar closes just right click on the chart click on indicators, and then just click okay. Forces a recomp.
I've been doing this and haven't notice much of a problem with the repainting since switching to calculate on close.
