My apologies for the late introduction but I am happy to be part of the futures.io (formerly BMT)F and hope to contribute in some meaningful way. I've been trading options for the past three years and have recently entered the world of futures. I'm primarily trading the Russell and Oil but will take a shot at anything with volume and movement. Of course my goal is to make trading my primary occupation but at this time I am fully employed and having to work around work. I usually trade the first two hours of the Crude market and then have to make the hour long commute to my JOB. I try to keep an minimalist approach to my screens and trade setup primarily based on support and resistance
I have been dedicated to mastering daytrading for the last 2 yrs.
I started with a book called Sniper Trading. It is quite dated but what I took away from it was to measure everything.
I am a very analytic person. I have my BCom and specialized in portfolio finance. I have always loved investing and have done it for many years. Though day trading is new, chart reading and stocks are old hat.
I am pursuing this for more than money, it is for a challenge. Once I master it I shall move on with my nest egg and bring forward my inventions for clean energy. I love the planet and it hurts me to see what we humans are doing to mother nature. I dream of a Eden returned with the earth restored to full health and beauty ... "the aching beautiful world of 1800" as James Lovelock - Giga's Revenge -puts it.
I am looking to learn how to trade Futures S&P emini. Found this forum via a internet search. I typed in " a honest futures trader" and got this forum. So I hope I can learn how to trade properly without spending thousands on gimmicks, and snake oil salesmen. I wish you all the best. I hope to grow with you all here to be a successful trader.
New to the forum, Just starting my trading career. I hope to make this my full time profession as soon as I can. I'd like to contribute a lot to this forum and learn a lot as well. I use Nexgen t-3 as well as more simpler S + R plays in the Forex market.
Mike,
Thanks for this opportunity to be a part of this great community. I trade futures, FX, and options. My first involvement with the markets was going to Optionetics and learning to trade options. Most of my option trades are diagonal trades, where I buy ITM options at least a month out and sell current month OTM or ATM options to cover much of or most of my cost. I enjoy trading ES and FX as well using an approach different than most. It involves double BB at 20, 2 and 2.5; 20, 31, & 62 EMAs; Stochastics Slow of 6,5,3 and 8,3,3 on same plane as price; and most important, is the CCI (Commodity Channel Index) at 14 on a histogram display. Check it out. If you study this, you can use it to trade everything on any time frame. I will add more to how I use it at a later date. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and God Bless you and yours.

My name is Paige. I learned probably just enough about trading to get myself in trouble from someone I was associated with in the past.
Anyway...... I really hope to learn as much as possible from you guys and I apologize if I have nothing to add in the near future.
One of my main difficulties since I've been here is understanding the abbreviations and acronyms that everyone uses.
Is there a legend or something that I can refer to so that I can better understand what is being discussed?
Best of luck in your trading. Some of the terms have links in them that you can click, otherwise you can do a simple cut and paste of the term to Google.
If some discussions are a bit overwhelming skip them, and get to to those you understand.
There are traders here with some serious programming skills and some that are beginner and intermediate.
