Another undocumented feature is exclusion:

'keyword to search for -"not this"'

for example, putting -"not this" will exclude that from the results.

I guess I will get used to it but I liked the old search better.

I found a way to search attachments by doing this:

attachments: <name of file>

The developers have been very responsive so far. I will see what can be done to try and bridge the gap between old and new, but keep an open mind guys -- I know you old members are accustomed to things a certain way, but try it and see what you think and also remember how regular users might use it.

I've tried the new search system a few times now, I think it gives much better results than the old search. Even better than googling something with "site:NexusFi".

I recently started to use the old search, the popup results box...coincidentally just when you made this change.
I agree with other posters, it was very usable.

The new system has potential to be much more useful and is a great upgrade for the site.

Yes, Google is missing a ton of content because it's Elite. Internal search shows it, for Elite Members.

I think there's being accustomed to do things in a certain way and there's changes in functionality - the two may not be necessarily the same.

I for one would appreciate bridging the two systems as much as possible, but I do like the idea of a more powerful search engine.

Just stumbled upon another feature of the new engine. You can search all posts by a specific user with this search string
