Just had 2 trades so far as I'm still figuring out how to get my charts working. It seems that I can't load historical data for the last week and I have a big gap on my higher time frame charts. Hate it as I'm kind of "blind". Already reset DB and used reload-historical data but it seems it's all not working. Pretty annoyed as I've been trying for the last 2 hours....
Anyways here are the trades:
Trade 1:
Entry: 46.40
Stop: 46.32
Entered with the assumption that we made lows just before the open and then traded up and back towards the OR-L but never touched and quickly bounced higher, hence bought and thought we should go higher. Pretty slow though and I booked +6 as I thought we might just come back to my entry. We did go back to the entry but then took off towards 46.70ish. Ok trade
Trade 2:
Entry: 46.45
Stop: 46.37
When we traded to the RTH high and then quickly came back into the OR which then held twice, thought I'll go long and hoped that OR-H would hold as support. Was trading near my entry for a while and was almost stopped out as it came down to 46.38 but quickly back up to my entry and I booked +5 at 46.50. It was so slow thought we would see some resistance. Seconds later it traded higher and my initial target of +10 was hit...stupid as I didn't let my ATM work for me...oh well
I don't like these really slow days as it just messes with my patience. Also ES has been trading only within a 5pt range so I'm just sitting on my hands for now...
No more trades for me and I call it a day. Was hoping for a bit of movement on ES but it's been in such a tight range, so won't trade it anymore. CL just closed its Nymex session and yeah in hindsight you can say that I missed a couple of opportunities but as mentioned earlier in TSJ, I don't like days where volume is split across 2 contract months. Hence, tomorrow or Wednesday should be back to normal.
Well, nothing really much to say only that I was a bit hesitant and wasn't as aggressive with my entries due to the split volume. In the past I had some bad experiences on these days, so since a couple months I just take it easy on "split-days". Overall, okish day, didn't break any rules besides that I took my trades off too early. Well one trade would be out at +4 and the 2nd would be out at +10. So Yea I limited myself from more profits...
Entered with a stop limit order as I thought if even $47 will hold then it would be more likely that we could break through the highs from earlier. It came down so I was filled and never went above even 47 again, then quickly onside +5T and auto BE moved stop to +1 where I was stopped out in the end. Target was hit later...annoyed
