Went live on CL today.....two winners one loser......still playing with charts.
So far I like the 30 range bar for an anchor on CL. It's interesting that I got the Sharkfin and the Shark Attack to track almost identically.
I must say that I like the volitility of CL !! I hope the fact that I survived my first day trading CL is a good sign.
Skid...... money management....right now I'm working on and initial quick target..+8 YM and +10 CL and a runner. I have not fully determined exactly what my exit criteria is for the runner. Obviously looking for some sort of exaushtion but....... getting out anytime the bars are not stair stepping in the direction of the trade. This however still leaves money on the table. Any suggestions??
That is what I'm looking at. Once first target is reached goto break even +1 and let
the second target goto a pivot point or like you said it stops stair stepping. Do you
still like the 10 range bar for the YM?
Taking quick profits and reducing risk ASAP is paramount. Right nowI'm debating moving the stop to breakeven +1 after the first target is hit or.......moving it to say -8. In the latter scenario the first target would be +8 and the stop to -8 would result in a breakeven trade at worst (provided the first target is hit) and still give the trade room to play out and reach your second objective. The reason I suggest such an approach is that often a trade is entered upon the break of support of resistance.....when support or resistance is broken more often than not that area will be re-tested. Well...... if you entered on the break of support or resistance...reached your first objective and moved the stop to breakeven +1 the market will come back for the re-test and stop you out making your second objective impossible. Just a thought.....see if your observations corroborate this premise. Let me know.

YM I like a 10 and a 15 range bar ( I tend to lean a bit more on the 15 range these days)
