Maybe the architecture of NinjaTrader 7 limits the number of possible enhancements. I think that NinjaTrader developers have a tracking system for enhancement, but there is a need to set priorities.

I wouldn't be surprised if they've decided to focus all their attention to NT8, and only provide bug fixes to NT7. From the way Ray described NT8 in a couple of futures.io (formerly BMT) webinars, it's practically an entire rewrite... (my impression, my words)
I tend to agree, having worked closely to software projects in the past, you are only fixing critical bugs in the current platform and looking to solve the other issues with the new platform. This means you have very little effort going into the current release except when a major issue is discovered. Otherwise, all programmers are focused on the next generation (easier to support going forward).
I would not want to maintain 2 code tree's myself... I would not expect NT to do that either. This could be a good sign as they might see a light at the end of the tunnel and pulled resources from NT7 to give the next gen a better release date. (My guess, not anything I have heard)
