Would I take that first long could make 5-6 points. Even last trade could give me over 4 points, but as long as I made my daily goal I'm fine with that. I didn't record live video. I should start soon.
Over traded big time. I took 14 trades today. last 4 were just clicking. To be honest I cannot believe it.
All day was kinda choppy without clear direction. After first three trades I was down 1.5 points and I thought that I should wait for a nice setup and get just one nice trades to BE and maybe a couple ticks on the top and be done for today. And problem was that there was no nice setup and I ended up with just clicking.
The only goal I have for this week to BE or do not get any lower.
Here is a summary:
I don't post any pictures of my trades because non of them make any sense.
Days like today are not easy, but the trend was clearly long, but the setups were challenging.
One thing is, please do not bring another days trading into tomorrow. Put today away, learn from it and move on. (speaking from experience!)
Successful traders do not measure by trades or by days, but look at the whole enchilada. You are a good trader, you know what you are doing, but you didn't stick to your 3 trade rule.
It is ok to lose 3 trades and be done.
I made way too many trades too and I have a feeling so did Horst, Julia, and co...
Trade what you see, start fresh tomorrow only learning from today and others. Days like today are rare...
I agree that trend was up, but it had so many divergence and separations almost on every swing. I took a lot of shorts today and every time I looked back I saw that I'm jumping in front of the trend and for some reason I was looking for counter-trend trades instead of going with the trend. Just because it would make move up, then fail to go higher, then break previous low and get back up again. So it was really hard for me to see setups in the right direction.
Thanks for your support, but to be honest I don't feel like a good trader. I'm not sure if that feeling ever come.
I just have to do my best and try to keep up with this market conditions.
Today I stopped when I was 3 points down. I took about 20 mins break and then got back to trading. Then I switched to 6E traded on sim a little bit then looked on TF again and tool a very stupid trade pushing myself to over -5 points. But I think it's alright and I can deal with it and get out from this situation. Yes I traded bad today Yes I did a lot of mistakes, but tomorrow another day and I'll do my best to get back on my feet. I'll try do not think about the past and I'll trade with clear mind (hopefully).
I took long right at the open on 1-2-3 setup and foot forming at 610. I got out too early. My target was set at 50%, but I was afraid that we can get deep from 38%. I didn't watch MACDs during that pull back and that was my mistake. 610 was straight on the rail and got all the way to 76%. Even at 50% I could get another 1.5 point, but it's alright. I don't want to risk it anymore. Tomorrow another day.
I remember you said that last time before rollover.
Could you tell me when exactly we should switch contracts. I think Horst said last time it should be third Thursday of the month, but I'm not really sure. I asked my broker and they told me to watch their calendar for last day of the contract, but most of the traders switch before it expired when volume moves to the next one.
I guess it's second Thursday and it's today, but looking at 12/11 contract it seems like there is still more traders on 9/11.
eventually you will have to internalize this stuff officially
Rollover day is 8 days before expiration date.
Expiration is the third Friday of each quarter month (March, June, September, December).
Other options also expire every third Friday of each month. In general third Friday of each month is bad.
just be on alert for those days and weeks and big news.
As far as timing put up 2 doms 1 for old and 1 for new contract, when number of trades on the old contract shows less than number of trades on the new contract then you can switch over.
I thought I learned my lesson on Wednesday. But guess what? I didn't.
I took 23 trades today and negative 7.6 points. There was many winning setups, but I took only loosing ones. A lot of time I just traded against the trend. Still a lot of clicking. I don't learn on my own mistakes.
Over all for the week it's -$945 (with all fees). If I keep trading this way I'll loose my account very soon.
From now on I take three trades and if all of them losers or small winners I'll wait for the next setup and take one more trade. No matter what's gonna happen I stop trading after that. I cannot afford to take so many trades. More of that brain stop working very quick.
I just did pretty good yesterday and I thought I can do it today. After first three trades it was obvious that I'm not doing so well what's a point of loosing more. Just stop and start tomorrow with clear head.
