I took some profit when prices stalled in the 40's (again) but held onto a pair. Then price broke (again) and my paper profit went out the window, I bought again on the VWAP and quickly sold everything on the bounce at and above the +1SD level (I got lucky). Maybe price will test 1.2450 after the European session close. Without me, I'm done for the day.
the R:R for a short here looks good. Feels like it is loosing steam on the momentum to the upside. I think I'll open a small short here and sprinkle some limit orders up near 239x - 24xx
All I took were longs this morning, but all I was thinking was short down to 1.2360. I told myself I wasn't going to try a short until price tested the Buy Number from above. I wanted some 5m bars to close above the Buy Number and or test the +2SD level first. I used the low tick for a stop and bought the area around the -2SD level as my entry. As I began taking profits on my last trades I got a long signal but wasn't sold on the idea of a run through even (1.2400) on the first attempt so I counted coup and stood aside. I'm done.
Well that worked out nicely. I have shed 2/3 of the position at 2270 and trailing the rest with a tight-ish stop. To be honest I think it will drop further but it is Friday night here in Oz and I am in no mood to sit in front of the computer
I am on my second scotch already... Through the teeth and over the gums, watch out tummy here it comes
I've been trying to trade myself out of a box for the last couple hours but the market isn't participating. I'm short from 1.2278 it's a long story, My target is that POC with the Buy Number sitting on it (1.2250). Probably to obvious to work. So far price has stayed under the Globex VWAP (by a tick). Another test of that level will probably be a good time for me to take a loss on this mess and rethink this idea. I also have an argument for a long trade from this same level, but that's trading I guess.
In my calculations the EUR/USD pair shall reach at least 1.18 if not lower all the way to around 1.13 as my max move...
Your short is an excellent decision in my opinion; especially if you are playing long term (a month or two)
