Hi Mike, I just noticed that I and a number of others I did a quick check on have had our "Forum Reputations" set to 0. Some have lost their red Wizard color behind their names, some still have it.
Besides myself, I checked , , , and decided that there was some sort of system issue you should know about.
This has been resolved, and while I was at it I had inspiration and was able to re-write the query so it completes in 14 seconds now instead of over 3 minutes like before. This will reduce the site's downtime each day by this amount, as it required a LOCK on tables that prevented the site from being online.
Guys, I am soliciting feedback on which subforums should be dropped (merged into parents) due to inactivity/unpopularity/age, and which new ones should be created that represent current platforms or categories of topics that are popular.
This applies to the Downloads section as well. Please share your thoughts here.
Here and there over the last few days there have been intermittent outages on the site ("maintenance in progress"). My apologies. I am trying to do much needed backend improvements, and they are a bit of a technical challenge. I am trying to keep downtime to an absolute minimum and appreciate your understanding while we get this squared away.
Fixed a bug in Market Wizards promotions where users where incorrectly being demoted after their status/level was falling in special circumstances (such as they were marked as a vendor or had a custom user title).
Looking at some of the "New" Market Wizards showing up after your recent change here and it appears there is some inconsistency in the way the site is now assigning the status.
A quick look into some of the "new" ones shows they have been members for less than a year and have not made 500 posts (myself included), which is what I understood the Market Wizard status was tied to?
Just sayin.
