I'm new to this forum and I have been trading only in the stock market just recently. At the end of April I traded for the first time after reading an email promoting a small cap with potential for a huge upside. Common sense seemed to elude me and greed stepped in. Not having a plan let alone a proper or solid strategy, I jumped in without a clue of the right entry or exit point or a stop loss. NEEDLESS TO SAY - (this as I found out later), was most likely a "Pump and Dump." I lost on my own lack of knowledge in this area of the market! The "TO GOOD TO BE TRUE" rule certainly applied here! This was a bitter pill to swallow...
Well, since then I have been looking at the different "on line learning centers" and almost any place I can go to get the skills to execute a trade with a plan in hand and the use of a good strategy. This forum seems to be a good start. Looking forward to reading thru the forums to improve on the skills needed to trade sucessfully in the future. I would also appreciate any advice & direction to begin acquiring accurate knowledge on which type of platform is user friendly. Advice welcomed.
Thanks for starting this forum Mike.....
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Mel here. I have only started trading very recently via a spread betting account. With me not having a massive amount of funds to start with it seems the most cost effective way for me to get started. So far it's going ok, but I probably think it's more beginners luck than anything else.
BareBear here!!
I've been trading for a number of years, with moderate success (Aust / US markets mainly)
I have become disillusioned with the risk/reward of stock investing, and have been investigating/learning/simulating futures trading for the last few months, preparing to go live in the near future.
I am new to the forum and I am a beginner at trading the stock market. I am in PA and I look forward becoming a regular here.
I am currently using TD Ameritrade and StrategyDesk. My main objective is to learn from all of you and becoming a good trader. I have ventured on my own and have managed to make some positive trades, but I got a lot to learn.
I've been at this for about 5 years. I am glad to say that I have made more than I have lost.... but only enough to buy a pack of gum. So - After finding a great system in Options... and still losing more than I would have liked to, I am now trying e-mini's. Never mind the fact that only 5% of us will ever succeed.... that doesn't seem to stop me. I was strickly a Think or Swimmer, but have since moved to Options House and Amp and using Ninja Trader 7.0. So - raise a glass to all those out there who are supporting themselves doing this. I too shall join your ranks soon.
