I can't seem to be able to change a file I uploaded to something else.
I tried updating a Market Replay compressed file I had uploaded a while back, but I couldn't do it.
I tried again today with a different entry, but I get the same result: once the upload is completed, I try and downlad it but the file available has not been updated.
I simply click on "edit" on the entry I want and then I reupload the file I want (see screenshot), to no avail.
This is the original link, but please note that today I tried to create a brand new upload (under 'Educational') - uploading a .PDF file and then trying to change it gets me the same non-result, so I deleted it.
In other words, it would appear I have the problem with uploads no matter what I try to edit.
You were asking about forum suggestions the other day and it just occurred to me that we don't have a full time news vendor at least if we do they aren't active. It would be awesome if we could some how add a live news vendor to the chat. I know financial juice is free at the moment and have a delay but in the future they will be up to speed with live news. It would be awesome to get a news feature in with the elite membership.
I am in no way associated with financialjuice
just a thought

For a while, certain PDF uploads/attachments would produce a black-background thumbnail. I finally had the inspiration to fix this problem.
I've tested it against a dozen PDF's and it seems to work, but because this is a very "deep" change into the core of the system regarding processing all uploaded/attached images, I need your help to make sure everything is fine regarding ALL image types being attached (not just PDFs).
So, please test away and report back. After a couple days of everyone saying it's fine (or not reporting problems), I will run a script to redo all the existing thumbnails in all posts, to fix all PDF thumbnails uploaded prior to this patch being put in place, and make them white instead of black.
Started the recreation of all thumbnails in all posts, will take a while but should fix all past PDF thumbnails being black -- and hopefully changes nothing else.
Please report any problems. During these hours, the site will be a little slower.
