Made a change to the edit post functionality right now to try to fix a long standing error in certain very rare situations where a post was updated live by ajax, then edited by the poster, then when re-saving the edit it would try to re-subscribe the user to the thread and couldn't --- thereby generating database errors, which are getting more noticed now because of our auto-ban script I recently implemented.
Anyway, end users never saw any problems in the past -- this was an internal error. And now with this fix in place, end users should continue to see no difference. Just hopefully no more database warnings on my side.
Please report any change in behavior regarding edit post feature.
Has been updated to point to a YouTube version of the video, instead of our old built-in Flowplayer which requires Flash (yikes). This should have been done long ago...
Now, this makes it obvious how out-of-date this video is. Anyone willing to make a new video that covers all the same info but updating it to include all the current search options, do a nice high quality screen record and voice over?
I screwed up and as a result only about 1/5th of the emails that were supposed to be sent in the newsletter today actually got sent. Resending now. Will result in those 1/5th getting in twice, am very sorry.
Changed our 10-year logo on the site to "version 2", I think it's a good compromise between incorporating the 10-years and the appropriate size for our brand name.
As well as downloads, could the solution you are researching include facilities for uploads?
I regularly uploads CL Market Replay data which takes me about 2 hours each time. Of course my Internet connection is unusable when uploading so I tend to arrange the uploads when I go out for errands.
Since I've been thinking of starting to upload ES data too, the process may become too tedius, especially given ES contracts are 3x the size of CL's.
My thinking is, some sort of upload manager technology that plugs into the site may greatly allieviate any such process.
EDIT Just come across this, to support the idea: https://tus.io/
Not sure what happened - but several strange things I see have happened to the site
1) As a elite member I get pages cluttered with ads - since some time
2) The experience list seems to be out of anything: Members got millions of points over night - eg: fattails 132,150,500 "Points for miscellaneous" and so many other members too that had no input in the last years...
Of course nothing to complain - just a hint.
Awaiting futures.io 4.0 soon.
Thanks for your ongoing support and your great site.
Some improvements in the Private Message email notification template today.
I've also improved the email subject line to include the sender, to better differentiate topics --- in gmail for example, it won't group PM's from different people any more, but instead thread them based on sender.
Forgive the not so great screenshots, I am working on an old laptop while my primary machine is undergoing repairs and I've not set everything up perfectly yet.
