It make sense and further reason to withdraw the support can be easy access to users who has pirated copy of Multicharts. TradeStation and now Amibroker restrict the support for the users who has registration key or something which recognized them as a licensed users, might be they also want to implement something like that.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Thanks for the heads up Mike (I actually missed this post originally but got here via another thread). You can count me in the group of folks who picked MC7 over NT7 a year ago based on your personal experiences . I waited until MC7 and NT7 had stabilized before deciding, and I'm still very glad I went the MultiCharts route for the time being as I've found MC8 x64 to do just about everything I've asked of it (and then some) and do it FAST. Slinging Easy/PowerLanguage vs. C# has had it's quirks to be sure (I'm a 30+ yr programmer/architect by profession) and the "programmer in me" still likes the extensibility of NT/C#, but MC .NET may get me there just the same should I decide to go that route. I'm also a bit put off by NT not exposing the internals of NTM/NT2 data files (not that I blame them - IP is IP). As trading isn't my "day job" yet, I have to pick my battles while still in learning mode, and both the MultiCharts app and support staff have thus far exceeded my expectations.
My .02 - I still like NT as well, but at the end of the day, we all pick what works for us . Still curious about their own decision as I actually purchased a lifetime license BECAUSE of futures.io (formerly BMT)...
Years ago I bought MC and - decided against NT.
I haven't read any reason from MC why they stoppped posting here. But is this necessary at all? Anyone sharing thoughts / code about his/her favored coding-station (NT, MC, TS, ...) will do so independent from MC-Support (I hope I can be more active also). So thanx for this clarification regarding futures.io (formerly BMT) and MC.
I don't understand why they see a "lack of support" from futures.io (formerly BMT) either. I do remember for example, a heated conversation between MC and one of their competitors, where Mike did a great job moderating with impartiality.
It's obvious that although Ninja is more popular, this website still brings them customers - plenty of good stuff for MC can be found here.
Very old thread here.. hopefully I'm not causing an issue in posting in here.
I've had some minor issues with MultiCharts with it not "calculating" or showing the right time of a bar being displayed on a chart's x-axis. Example: It is 10am in the session yet at the x-axis where it shows the time it'll display something off by one hour.. It'll print candlesticks as if its 9am.. but its really not. It's 10am. That is for multiple different time frames. If I switch to a 60min chart however it'll appear as the correct time.
I also have an issue where the candlesticks will literally change (wick size, candle size) after they've been printed when I switch from 60min to 5min charts.. its weird and I'm clueless as to how this happens...
Sorry again if I shouldn't post this here... just find it odd that they would stop posting here for support issues. Oh well.
