It crashed on me about 10 times back to back this morning out of nowhere. I have no clue what the fix was, I didn't change workspace/templates/charts, I repaired db like 5 times, etc. I even disabled all the workspace and templates, loaded NT with no third party DLL's, and the instant I would connect to Zen Fire it would crash with no useful info in the trace (to me).
Anyway, after 10 times of trying the same crap over and over and over, maybe in a different order or who knows what, it suddenly started working.
I wouldn't expect a public beta before the middle of Feb at the earliest, I would bet probably closer to early March. As for an official release... knowing these guys, you can count on something like April or May. I find it hard to believe that we have been in private beta for an entire 4 months already without it being released to the public, but they seem to work really slowly. Your guess is as good as anybody's - I don't think they even know themselves.
And really, official release doesn't mean you can use it reliably or that it works. If you can, I would really wait for the .1 release before switching, which could be six months away.
If I wasn't a developer I wouldn't switch now, but I am kind of forced into it a bit.
In beta 7.0.0.7 is there a way to change the default settings for things like Fib Extensions or Fib Retracements? It is easy in 6.5 and was not a problem in the previous beta release unless I'm not remembering correctly. Anyway, I haven't been able to get the changes I make to those drawing tools to stick as default settings. Any clues? Thanks.
I was under the impression this would not work as there isn't really a spot in the database to hold this info. The wording with the pre release was quite confusing in this area. I only used the first beta and decided to wait for whole thing to be released though.
When the dialog comes up, makes your changes, then right click and you will a setting that says "Manage Templates...". Just click on that and save the settings as default.
I wanted to just briefly report that I've loaded 1-year of tick data into the optimizer, using the 32-bit version of NT7, and memory consumption is just 170MB. So great job, I think mainly due to the 256-series lookback restriction that was added.
