I can't stay connected either, even after switching ISPs. My new connection is a faster 20 mb and still drops out from time to time. Sometimes it's the price feed and then sometimes it's the broker connection. AMP was useless in trying to resolve the issue, Ninjatrader were helpful and interested, even got kinetic involved...IQFEED was better in that it stayed connected but it would lag and the level II would go out of sync....
Thats interesting that MC isn't much of an issue. As i understand all price feeds go through NTs server first, that where i keep getting disconnected, according to when i do a "traceroute".
This is not true, all feeds do not go through our servers first, they connect directly to the source. For CQG, we connect directly to CQG streaming data servers but connect to NinjaTrader managed servers co-located in CQG data centers for historical data.
With respect to tderrick, his connection issue stems from the fact that he is using an iPhone through Verizon mobile carrier for his internet connection which is a less than desirable set up.
I am not aware of any such alternate connection, all CQG users through NinjaTrader are routed to the same CQG global network.
If you are having connection issue, please send email to our support attention to RayD referencing this post, I can have CQG to a traceroute to look at your connection.
