Dr. Esselstyn and Dr. Campbell, top Doctors in their field
This is just a 5m clip
I tried to find a free version of "Fork over Knives" but couldn't find one.
Some where you can watch it on-line for under $2.00 or if you have Netflix, it is available there.
In my family, my father had a triple bypass and so early on in life, I became a
vegetarian; to avoid the same health problem. Eventually, I became a vegan
and learned Macrobiotics and prevention is were it is at.
You can play a part in your health, as long as you are motivated: to be in control of
your own health outcome.
Plus, the food can be satisfying, delicious and you will have more energy etc.
Dr. Esselstyn's ongoing 21-year study shows that you CAN reverse heart disease and save your life. Of 20 patients sent home to die by their cardiologists in 1989, every one is still alive and healthy today, and heart-disease free, even though together they had had a total of 63 cardiac events before entering his study.
I remember reading a book a long time ago: The Rave Diet and Lifestyle
by Mike Anderson
It came with a DVD in the back with an interview from an MD, who needed a quadruple bypass.
He choose not to have surgery but go on the diet Dr. Esselstyn and the Rave Diet book recommend to reverse and prevent heart disease.
He was able to reverse his condition.
Dr. T. Colin Campbel on Holistic Nutrition and "The China Study"
Food companies have lined canned foods with the chemical bisphenol A (also known as BPA) for years because it acts as a barrier between the metal can and the food. Even though studies have linked the chemical with diabetes, heart disease, infertility, prostate and breast cancers, reproductive abnormalities and weight gain, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) still considers exposure of 50 micrograms per kilogram of BPS per body weight per day According to the research, a 165-pound adult eating one serving of canned green beans, which averaged 123.5 parts per billion of BPA, would ingest about .2 micrograms of the chemical per day. That’s roughly 83 times the amount recommended by the scientists.
I do not buy anything in cans.
I cook my own beans up and you can freeze them in serving sizes. Defrost them the night before to add to salads etc.
I buy tomato paste in glass jars etc.
I think there are 3 dimensions that help develop cancer:
1. Carcinogenic substances
There are substances and habits that have been proven to help develop cancer.
Examples are : smoking, radiation, asbestos, preparing food in contact with fire (BBQ?)
Some are more 'proven' than other, like asbestos nobody doubts anymore about hits.
While for some of the products we do see lobbies trying to minimize the impact (like fine dust emission from gas-oil cars?)
2. Hereditary
Colorectal cancer, ...
3. Emotional, feeling, stress
Not being well, begin stressed can be a source of cancer development.
By traditional medicine too often underestimated or not taken into account.
Traditional medicine tends to fight the result, not the source
I lost my mother when i was 18 (nearly 30 years ago), she had many years breast cancer and live several years with up's and downs. A lot has changed in the world in the meantime. Both better treatment and better awareness. Cancer is taken very serious nowadays. When my mother felt some hard tissue, the doctor sent her walking, which today would be a professional failure.
While nobody is free from any future cancer risk, i would say that the best way to protect is to have a healthy and balanced live. Balanced food, balanced life style. Sounds all very simple, and most of the people know but don't do, the modern life with the rush and the pressure...
There are specific food supplements known to protect (antioxidants, ..
For sure there is still a lot of research and development necessary.
Just from a practical point, how to measure ?
pulled my last lab analysis from 2 weeks ago, as a general screening...
nothing about acidity...
However, it is important to have a doctor who is knowledgeable, beyond the basics, my experience is that most doctors are unable to diagnose and are unable to go beyond the traditional prescription..
infection : large spectrum antibiotics
inflammation : anti-inflammatory
pain : pain-killer
A little story...
A did a thorough check-up 2 weeks ago. When the result came 2 parameters where out of whack.
AST/GOT and ALT/GPT, typical liver parameters.
I like a good glass of Champagne, or Red wine Shiraz or a Cuba Libre, even more than one also...
So i said to the doctor, it's my liver ? i'll have to drink a little bit less..
Which i was already planning to do anyway...
We also spoke about the fact that i decided to do a lot more sport.
The discussion ended there
My best buddy (who is also a trader), is a retired clinical biologist, he has seen millions of blood
samples in his life, i mailed him the lab results. He also knows about my new sport activity.
Based on his skills, he was able to immediately pin-point that the GOT/GPT was inversed
and that does not mean liver, but muscle, due to untrained exercising.. bang !
He noticed one parameter was missing, most likely because the lab needed to do additional
test.. It is a traversal muscle indicator (or heart-attack indicator),
I mailed the doctor if he had the missing result and i suggested the opinion
if the GOT/GPT could not be possible due to recent heavy untrained sport exposure ?
He knows my buddy and most likely made the link...
and probably plunged in his books or took advice form the lab
but then came back with confirmation that this was not liver but sport and muscle related
the extra test on traversal indicated it was not hearth but significant muscle exercising...
Just to show you, that traditional medicine and doctors, if you don't give them a wake-up
call with information, that makes them notice, you are to some extend knowledgeable...
they tend to give quickly a generalized opinion without really thinking and really diagnosing
I had a super doctor, but due to his age and cardiac problem he stopped his practice
but that guy could solve a problem, diagnose by elimination..
like in many professions, the people who really master their skill, go away... sad..
(i'm in IT and i see that, too often)
Collect your urine for 24 hour periods....then measure with pH strips....very easy to do...
learn the basics on acid forming and alkaline forming foods...
