On the bad side, my current problem is much more frequently with Kinetick. I got a little more info from NT, and they said that there is a known bug/issue with Kinetick dropping connection overnight periodically. They say restarting daily helps, but I'm guessing not enough since I have been doing that ever since I started with NT (as of course TWS forces you to do so).

I'll give the workaround they mentioned a chance for now. The workaround is to use IqFeed, but using your Kinetick login information. Apparently IqFeed's connection handling is more robust? Perhaps this should be more well known since new NT users probably tend to go with Kinetick since it is advertised so heavily.

DavidHP, I have been trying to get the strategy to reconnect automatically, but maybe I'm just doing it wrong. I thought setting the various restart options would do it. Is this not right?

Long term, I am planning on switching to Python (unless anyone wants to talk me out of it ).

Now that I think about it, IB does lose connection fairly frequently, but the difference is that NT is able to reconnect to it, unlike Kinetick recently. I see the connection status go orange on IB, and then go back to green in a minute or so. Perhaps it is a bug with the Kinetick connection in particular, since they say you can hack it by using IQFeed instead.
