@Gauer
Look, forget feibel. Forget this excuse of the mind that you still need to find little tidbits of information to complete your knowledge. You are begging for scraps from someone else's table when you already have a feast on your own table. Its just a mind trick to avoid the discomfort of hard work. Its easier to blame someone than to confront your own demons.
Here are two things that perhaps you can think about:
Imagine looking at the horizon and saying to yourself that you want to walk to it and see what is there. So you walk. And one day you get to the place you were looking at but you dont know that because the horizon is still over there in the distance. So you keep walking. And walking. And you never see all the goals you have achieved because you are too busy walking towards something that stays out of reach.
All this searching promotes a sense of inadequacy within yourself because it makes you feel like you are never quite getting to where you want to be. A big trading milestone to reach is when you stop seeing yourself as a subordinate and start to see yourself as the authority. You know everything you need to know about VSA so get out there and start grappling with the market. Win trades, lose trades - that's where you will find the little nuances you are looking for. Everyone and everything else is the horizon. Stop walking, plant your flag, pull your spade out, start digging, build your foundations where you stand.
So I have received a reply from Dr. Garyīs wife about this (I had sent an email warning them that there was a guy copying all his stuff and selling under a different name). She said they were aware of this, but they donīt know what to do.
I think that it is hard to invest in an international lawsuit (that certainly will be expensive) when there is a high probability that the copycat is gonna get away with it. I donīt know the law in this area, but I think it is easy for them to get away with it because they will say it is a different thing, because it has a different name and a slight change of a parameter here and there, and nomenclature of stuff.
Well at least they know about it. I'm sure they are thankful for your notification. They are right, plagiarizers and outright thieves are plentiful with any informational product. I wish I got even $1 for each illegally distributed copy of my 4 books!
With 4 books out there you've dealt with the piracy side of this plenty. The repackaging angle is arguably worse though -- at least pirates don't pretend they wrote it.
The Wyckoff/VSA space is particularly bad for this. Richard Wyckoff laid the groundwork in the 1930s, Tom Williams expanded it in Master the Markets, and the core concepts are well-documented and freely accessible. Charging 350+ GBP for what amounts to a rebrand of publicly available VSA material is a hard sell once you know where to look.
For anyone following along, before spending money on trading education:
Search for free equivalents first -- YouTube, published books, and forum threads cover most "proprietary" methods
Cross-reference the methodology -- if a vendor claims their approach is exclusive, search the core concepts by description, not their branded name
Read independent reviews -- forums like NexusFi, not testimonials on the vendor's own site
Look for a verifiable track record -- live trading results, not cherry-picked screenshots
Be skeptical of rebranded VSA/Wyckoff content -- the foundation is so well-documented that the bar for genuine original contribution is high
Legally it's a mess. International IP cases cost a fortune, and like Gauer said, a few parameter tweaks plus new terminology makes it nearly impossible to prove in court. Threads like this one are probably the most effective tool the community has -- sunlight and all that.
