The "on-chart" version of the indicator will be maintained as open code, the other version, where the news are added in an external box is only available as DLL.
jtEconNews has been updated. Please post only links to the blog page rather than direct download links. This way the most current version will be downloaded. Thanks.
I have had a nasty crash today, and I could track it back to this indicator, which has cost me about 2 hours searching.
I am running Windows XP 32 bit with NT 7.0.1000 Beta 3. I have installed the indicator jtEconNews2a, which I have directly downloaded from your website. The indicator is not running on any chart and is not part of any workspace, but it is contained in my indicator directory and is therefore part of the compiled NT program library, which is called NinjaTrader.Custom.dll.
The indicator compiles well, but after compiling NinjaTrader will crash on the first attempt to open the indicator dialogue box. Applies to any chart and/or workspace.
This happens only if
- jtEcoNews2a is installed
- the FOREXFactory server is down (on Saturday)
- with NT 7.0.1000.3 Beta (did not have any problems with NT 7.0.1000.2)
To produce the problem, add jtEconNews2a to a new NinjaTrader install (or any other install). To solve the problem remove jtEconNews2a.
A friend running XP 64 with NT 7.0.1000.3 did not have the problem, I will now test it on my other machine:
Edit: Tested on my Vista notebook. Same problem, indicator will cause NinjaTrader freeze, even if not used. It is definitely a dangerous indicator.
