Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
If I would be a swing trader or holding my positions for longer times and not a day trader I would only look to TOS and never look back. Their platform for trading options is one of the best I have seen and worked with, there is no easier way to work with your delta's etc. Really nicely programmed.
You are just paying for this software with a higher commission. But it works perfectly on my mac and it's stable.

I emailed Tom Sosnoff (sp?) the president and asked for a lower futures trading rate...I asked for $5.50 a round turn and he gave me $5.00 per round turn for all futures....can't beat getting a better deal than you asked for....I pay a little more for ES and other indexes than some other sites, but the rate is good for the currencies and oil. My commissions are the only expense...I like the no other charges feature

As I'm sure you know, they were bought out by TD Ameritrade last year.
Two ways to look at it:
a)It's a positive - i.e., they now have the backing of a large firm.
b)They sold out.
I know a lot of people have complained that they've gone downhill since then.
Personally, I can't say that I've noticed that.
Their customer service is still amazing - send 'em an email, and they'll usually respond within 5 minutes.
Very feature-rich, very aesthetically pleasing platform and charts.
Options? Their analytics can't be beat.(The owners, I believe, are - or were - options traders themselves, specializing in spreads for a steady, monthly income.)
Weekly webinars, very informative and educational. All free.
Platform is very stable.
It's true, their data does tend to lag. Very frustrating.
You would think that would be easy enough to fix.
Maybe if enough people complain they'll do something about it.
I got a letter from TDAmeritrade that I need to liquidate my account and transfer to another firm. TD Ameritrade no longer maintain and open account for certain international jurisdictions.
I tried the thinkorswim "Open new account" page today and my country isn't listed anymore and I need to find new broker.
I mainly trade stocks, options and a few forex trade with TOS. But for fx I moved to mt4 platform.
I did try to trade /ES, and /qm while still new to futures, the commission is not as cheap as options also I try to focus on stock options at that time. (they give me discount for options commissions)
What I like about TOS is their active trader, chart, service, support, software update. The customer service is good!
I'm looking for advice and suggestion from fellow members for broker that similar to TOS if available?
Been with TDameritrade for last 10 year mainly swing trading stocks. Customer service is excellent! Been using TOS platform and have not seen any charting sotware coming close to it; great for swing trades. Ver very powerful tools. What I like best is that their charts settings are saved on their severs, so all the changes you make to your charts whether adding trend lines, studies, layout and etc, all this be accessible from a different computer.
Just too bad data feed is not so good for day trading and cost for trading is very high.
Is anyone here aware of any differences between TOS, and the TOS through TDA?
I still have my TOS paper account from years ago, pre-TDA acquisition...
I've been with TDA for many years, and now can also access TOS via my TDA login, thus my question.
What is the data feed for TOS, and is it still different than TDA's, or are they one in the same, possibly not that good?
I've spent some time working with Prodigio, and in dealing with support, I was advised to use my TOS login over my TDA one to run Prodigio - that it would work better. So, I have some basis for my question too... Thanks.
