At this point, MultiCharts 7 Beta and MCDT are one and the same in terms of stability and performance. The only difference is that MCDT doesn't have PowerLanguageEditor and Portfolio Backtester, and it's free. In all other respects, they are the same.

I've been attempting to get to grips of it over the past 4 months given the unresolved issues with TS which MC doesn't appear to suffer. I'm auto trading and am nearly there, hope to have it sorted this week.
I'm not entirely comfortable with it but I think it is an issue of trust and lack of validation testing.
One thing I am enjoying greatly is the fact that I can install it on all my computers. Thats one issue I have with trading software, I got multiple computers in different places and I want to be able to access my charting software from all of them.
** As long as your internet connection is good, the connection between MC and IB TWS is solid.
TWS does do a reset at midnight est, so you'll need to restart TWS then, (unless you have a macro re-connect it for you) but during regular trading hours it's excellent. I've been using that combo for over 2 years..no problems.
There is nothing I can really add to this thread, since personal opinions are very subjective. I think trusting a platform really comes from experience - try using it for a while using a paper account, and see how it performs for yourself.
I can say that the IB connection is one of the more popular ones with our clients, the IB API is robust (meaning it allows many things like FA accounts, and server-side OCO), and based on experience of our support it's pretty stable.

My experience with MC - slow execution compared to TT and CQG even with a "fast broker", I have tried them all, its also full of bugs, i am sticking to TT and CQG Trader.
Interesting, I've never had any problems with slow execution whatsoever with MultiCharts. Which broker are you using for your tests?
If you are talking about milliseconds, then yes I agree X_Trader and CQG are faster by milliseconds, but also substantially more expensive. They really aren't geared to the same target customer as say MultiCharts or NinjaTrader or Sierra Chart, etc etc.
