the desktop I bought to CyberPower
The video card I bought on ebay (without accessories only video card)
ATI Radeon 5870 2 GB.
I have a question about the power cables for your video card 5870
the card in question carries 2 power cords 8 and 6 pin
both the cable from 8 and 6-pin needs to be installed?
Installation requires software CD-ROM that I have not ... how can I do to properly configure 4 monitors ?...
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Thanks - definitely an option ... only thing people need to watch out for is that this is a display port output card and I believe it requires displayport equipped monitors, as opposed to the others I posted, where any DVI/HDMI or VGA capable LED/LCD monitor will do.

Would anyone have any experiences in running more than 2 monitors directly from a motherboard that supports multiple monitors (and without use of a separate video card). An example of what I mean would be the following motherboard:
Display Support:
1 x D-Sub port
1 x DVI-D port, supporting a maximum resolution of 1920x1200
* The DVI-D port does not support D-Sub connection by adapter.
1 x HDMI port, supporting a maximum resolution of 1920x1200
1 x DisplayPort, supporting a maximum resolution of 2560x1600p[/SIZE]
I would assume that you would need to pair this with an Intel processor with integrated graphics ("K" models)?
I've recently switched to an Radeon HD 7870, and have ordered a 6th Dell U2412M. I also ordered a Tyke Supply Hex Monitor stand.
It's a 3x2 configuration (3 wide, 2 tall). The monitors will be in landscape mode. Right now I have the five monitors in portrait mode, and it routinely causes me some problems. For example, a lot of webinars and videos are in 1900x1200 but in portrait mode, my width is just 1200px, which makes the videos hard to see.
The hex stand should solve that problem.
I'll be ebaying the HD 5870 card.
Here is a video showing a six-monitor setup. I won't be gaming but this was best video I could find showing it. I'll take pics after I get it setup next week.
Hy Mike,
video card ati 5870 2 gb eyefinity :
Corsair PSU HX 850 W have native connectors 2 power cords PCI - E (6+2 pin).
Both are fine to 6+2 pin or cause video card problems ?
the card overheats
also sometimes only 2 monitors start the other two remain idle.
problems with new desktop
after boot my computer gives me the following error CPU over temperature error
entered into the BIOS to monitor the temp : cpu temp at idle is registering in at 89 degrees celcius
help me to solve and understand
thanks all for contribute the risoluzione dei problemi e domande ...
The power supply should be fine, but you seem to have a serious cooling problem!
Idle temps are waaaay too high, you are frying your cpu, well possible that that is the reason for all the other problems as well!
Something is not right with your cpu cooler.
Is it running?
Is it installed properly (including thermal paste)?
Does it fit the cpu (is it big enough)?
Also: Is your case cool enough? Have you got case fans and is the case free standing so the fans can work properly? What are the motherboard temperatures? What is the room temperature, and what will it be in summer?
On something as important as a trading pc you really should look for the low end of the acceptable temperature range!

The CPU is definitely way too warm, this is your main problem.
This could have the following reasons:
1. the cooler is the wrong one for your socket/CPU
2. the cooler isn't running
3. the cooler is not properly installed (have you used thermal paste?)
4. the CPU is not too warm and the temp sensor gives wrong temps (rather unlikely)
5. you run your computer in a sauna
Have you installed the AI suite (the software that came with the MoBo)? What do the temps there say? Have a look at the sensor recorder.
After we figured this problem out, we will have a look at the gpu problems.
