"Market Analyzer Column: I have included a market analyzer column with the install file. The market analyzer column will return bar codes for each type of signal: strong climax churn bar = 0, strong climax bar = 1, strong churn bar = 2, weak climax churn bar = 3, weak climax bar = 4, weak churn bar = 5, low volume bar = 6, upclose no signal bar = 7, downclose no signal bar = 8, doji no signal bar = 9. Based on these values you may define cell conditions and show the signals as text with background color on the market analyzer."
I'm trying to use amaBetterVolume indicator in market analyzer.
Basically I'm trying to get out Climatic Churn, Churn & low volume bars displayed.
I had given the cell condition as follows
0 = Climatic Churn
2 = Churning
6 = Low Volume
When I apply this, i'm getting number, please take a look at the Market Analyzer Screen.
I think I'm doing some thing wrong. Can you please take a look at it and let me know how i can fix it.
@sudhirc: The market analyzer column returns values between 0 and 9. When you define cell conditions each of the numbers can be replaced with a colored text field.
It is difficult to comment your screens. The only thing that comes to my attention is that you have renamed the market analyzer columns. It seems that those columns access a different indicator.
I opened up an a new market analyzer and pulled amabettervolume indicator and this time around i did not change any columns and had only one 5min period selected.
The market analyzer still showing numbers rather then the text as per cell condition.
I've included market analyzer template that i had
Sorry to bug you...please take a look at it at your leisure....and thank you for your help.
I have checked the market analyzer template. The problem here is that you had selected the indicator instead of the market analyzer column which is a separate file. The market analyzer column is called amaBetterVolume_BarType and will show in the column dialogue box of the market analyzer.
Hello and sorry to rehash and old thread. I have a beginner question..I'm having difficulties calling
if(amaBetterVolume.IsValidDataPoint(0) && amaBetterVolume[0].BarType == 1)
{
// The current bar is a strong climax bar.
// Do something here.
}
What's the correct syntax for example to print the bartype value and/or just use it with another indicator? For example if SMA crosses a certain value and bartype == 1 do something.
Thanks but I get this error. What am I doing wrong?
'NinjaTrader.NinjaScript.Indicators.Indicator.amaBetterVolume(amaBetterVolumeType, amaRVCalcMode, int, int, bool, int, int)' is a 'method', which is not valid in the given context
Code:
if (amaBetterVolume.BarType[0] == 1)
{
whatever
}
Also, for this type of question, you may easily find an answer yourself:
Open the strategy builder an create a simple strategy that uses the trend plot of the amaBetterVolume. The strategy does not even need to make sense. It only requires that one condition is added in the condition builder. Then compile the strategy and unlock the code. This should not take more than 1 minute.
You may now copy the relevant code snippets from the unlocked file. No need to wait for an answer.
