There are numerous threads on this subject, but this is not needed. Geostationary satellites are floating at a distance of 36,000 km. This means that the absolute minimum distance the signal has to travel for a round trip (data feed from exchange to your PC then order execution back to exchange) is 4 x 36,000 km or 144,000 km. The speed of light being something like 300,000 km/sec, this distance will introduce a lag of 500 milliseconds (half a second).
How about wireless data link? Its not like a hardwire DSL or Cable modem, but how about speeds there?
I supsect drop service could be a problem.
I plan to take an extended road trip next summer...at least, thats the plan. I can keep in touch with my office from the road, as my RV will have a desk and computer. To work while the wife and daughter and her friend are at the beach. Might wheel back up north for a week mid summer, then head off to the other coast. take in some fetivals as well as AOPA in Oshcosh...

just curious, do you use one of those heavy metal mounting braces for the six monitors?
I bought a three 24" monitor mounting brace, and its so heavy, that it itself would tip the desk over, not counting mounting the monitors on it. So the problem becomes, what to rest / place the monitors upon (fortified desk), instead of most of these assemble yourself, so called, computer desks.
I settled on my iPhone data connection linking my PC with a remote desktop (VPS) from .
Your stops and targets will be safe from the usual cellular problems. I have not tested fills live, but
SIM seemed fine. I am not a fast trading scalper however, so I can spare a few hundred milliseconds.
For Gawd's sake man .... spend time with your daughter while you can ...
An old preacher once told me, "TMFT ... I've been a minister for over 50 years. Many a time I was called out in the middle of the night ....to minister to a parishioner on his death bed .... and you know ... in all those years ... not once ... did he pull me close to hear him gasp with his dying breath ... " Preacher ... I just wish I had spent more time with my job...."
I'm just a simple man trading a simple plan.
My daddy always said, "Every day above ground is a good day!"
I want to travel next May to August... the 3 of us on the road. Will be the last chance, as here last year of high school is next year. But we will have to bring a friend of hers with us. But I have to keep in touch with the office. I can also fly back home commercially if I really need to, but going to work that out.
I figure a month out, a few days back...like that. But I have to connect to the office while on the road.
