I bought NT multibrokers license back in early 2020. It doesn't allow my Rithmic AMP login credentials to connect to data feed. I am told firmly and unfriendly that I have to use Ninjatrader's own brokerage which so limited here in Canada. Interactive Broker is a choice for me. But, IB does not have a good tick data. GFF is another broker that is available for me. however, they charge very high commissions compare to AMP. NT won't even give me a chance to pay more money to upgrade my license to be able to connect to Rithmic. Here is one more problem, I purchased lots of other NT indicators. Those paid indicators became useless without data real time data connection.

IQ feed with IB as a broker will work. Also you can use Rithmic as data feed and IB as a broker. GFF are actually great. In Ontario you have a choice of 2 clearing FCMs and one is cheaper. Still more than AMP but not by that much.
what are Rancho Dinero's profiling tools?
IB with IQ Feed and Nt8 is a solid choice. A bit pricy ...but likely the best for the tick data and cheep comissions.
I edited my profile to remove this reference to Rancho Dinero's profiling tools. I am still using some of them because i bought them when i started trading with Ninjatrader when Ninjatrader was pretty slim but since then there have been many competitors who provide the same thing if not better tools.
I was disappointed in the new Ninja version. It broke all my workspaces and I had to rebuild them. I am getting tired of Ninja updates, and things breaking. I spent a lot of time but got everything working once again, but this is a waste of time doing this when upgrades break things. At the same time, the platform now requires you to log in manually with username and password (I can see automation guys getting pissed). Ninja needs to learn something from Sierra, just keep the platform stable....
There is no difference between 27.1 and 28.0 except for the certificate that allows you to connect...
That is a safe upgrade path,,, Previous versions of NT8 before 27.1 require database updates which can be problematic...
No matter what anyone else says here about 8.1.X.X, I work with NT8 every single day with multiple users and it still has "issues"..
They may not have arisen for you yet but they will... My suggestion would be do NOT upgrade until Ninjatrader can go 6 months without a hot fix...
Thus far, they haven't made it 30 days... That doesn't really sound like a place I'd put my risk capital on the line...
Incidentally, I am on 8.0.26.1 because I find the database much more stable and reliable... I solved the certificate problem by just replacing the certificate...
