The geeky passion you seem to bring to this website's evolution reminds me of the long evenings and weekends back when I was developing the SQL databases and update procedures for the backend of our business intelligence software. Good times but man was I happy when everything finally worked as intended...
I need some members to give me feedback on today's "can you answer these questions" email.
I need confirmation on how the email displayed in your email client. Please tell me, was it "correct" with no unreadable text? And please tell me which email client you are using.
Only need one person per email client, but I especially need feedback from people NOT using gmail.
I accidentally disabled the 10 post requirement for posting in the Review section a couple days ago. I corrected that now.
It already caused issues with brand new, suspicious members making glowing reviews.
The 10 post requirement gives us a lot more information about intent.
However, I have disabled the 5 post requirement to post links. This is because our app was giving error messages to new users with every post, because of the signature which contains a URL.
I think that one will be fine, probably only an increase in pure spam which is easier to spot (please use yellow exclamation sign to report).
two small things.
1) if you were scrubbing some old settings from the system regarding threads I just wanted to let you know that apparently worked as intended, as my sorting is now last post = bottom of last page, opposed to few days ago when I reported the issue with link forwarding from the main page.
2) it would be great if you could add the "subscribed threads" link under the browse section, now that the quick links section is gone. This is, apart from the chatbox on mainpage THE way how I navigated to the content I am interested in. Now I can get to that via User CP then left site navigation panel - but that's pretty clumsy compared to before.
Please disregard this if you have other things in mind or no-one else was using the quicklinks-subscribed threads combo.
Alright, so at 11:36am the server encountered the same problem with OOM out of memory killing a critical process as yesterday. I lowered the concurrent connect value a bit more to account for increased memory consumption in other areas.
