Some thoughts of the GFIs1 system here after the first half year 2016 with quite some negative results:
The rules were NOT changed and are runnning since 4 years in the same manner.
Impact:
Some faults on my side in the analysis especially watching previous day situation before deciding
which rule is due. Or forgetting about an upcoming holiday...
The first half year 2016 had much stop loss moments that took the accumulated gains into negative.
Now it seems that normality (sic!) is back and the rules produce more consistent gains and no longer
so many trades with stop loss.
As I already was thinking of forcing the system to pause I see decent profitability - so I will
continue. We are from previous year's results after 7 months: but regarding a ~30% gain for seven months
on investment is still ok. Even counting the drawdown had on first 5 months.
You are a seasoned trader, nevertheless I want to show my respect explicitly for this decision
to stick to the plan.
We both know it's not really funny to experience such drawdowns which can always be just
around the corner. Deciding whether that is still normal within the boundaries of the system
is an art - as well as standing the emotional pressure and clearing one's mind under such
conditions.
