The client app was updated today, at least in the Android market. To "thank" a post, just click on the post and it will popup the option to use Thanks. I tested it and it works.
With some luck, this version may improve the stability of the app (errors) as well. Not crossing any fingers...

I get 20 Mbps from other tests and less than 1 Mbps from that test for some reason

Yes, the app I installed is there portable version. But for whatever reason, it seems unreliable compared to the main site, which I use and recommend as well. Pingtest.net is probably more useful for traders.
