I am jumping into the exciting world of trading, its not something that I have considered in the past but I have an addictive personality and an analytical mind, so I have been researching and researching and decided to join this forum so that I can learn more about this exciting "sport" (as I have heard it described).
I am not planning on using real money for a while, but I will be getting as much practice in as I can.
Thanks for having such a great place to read up about the successes (and failures) of trading, and I hope to find myself in a place where I can, at least, gain more than I lose!
My partner and I have traded for ourselves for over 15 years. We began a small CTA as well and concentrate on a strict Oil only program which trades only once a day at a specefic time. We also provide clearing and execution services for other Brokers/Traders through RCG. We have a website at conoverfutures and can be found on Linkedin as well under the same name.
We look forward to participating and hearing from other like minded individuals.
Hello all and thanks Mike for making such a great resource available.
I've been trading on and off for about 16 years in stocks and options... mostly off and completely unprofitable until very recently (I finally started making a little money - hopefully that can continue). A couple of years ago I decided to try out Forex to see if I would have an easier time. No such luck. My biggest problem is establishing an entry method that I'm comfortable enough with to stick with it for more than 5 minutes.
I coming to the Forum hoping that the collective wisdom here will be enough to get me over the hump, to get me profitably trading on a regular and consistent basis...
Thank you a lot for taking the time and effort to setup, maintain and participate in this forum.
It is the best trading forum I have seen so far as the general atmosphere is focused on helping and all aspects of trading are dealt with in equal importance.
My focus is on trading equities. I started off in early 2011 with basic technical analysis knowledge and of course, had a succession of losing trades. Then i took a break to study my previous mistakes and learn new stuff. The second time of trading was better but results were still very eratic and my emotions were in a wreck sometimes.
In late 2011, I stopped trading and took a break again to review my mistakes, practise on the SIM and take journaling more seriously. After this, I am looking forward to trading live again with small trade sizes this time and to also start an online journal here.
first of all, thank Big Mike for setting up such a friendly forum!
I have been working with hedge fund and prop trading firm in past 5years, from manual trade to DMA to low latency high frequency trading.
Now I decide to trade from home, so that I can look after my son at the same time.
I found this forum today when I was googling "volume strip" stuff. After reading some posts for a few minutes, I decided to join this forum. This is the one I have been looking for.
Hope can learn from others in this forum and help ppl if I can.
