1) IB vol is measured volume on first 30min from 9:00 to 9:30
7 to 10K are ok or good. <7K or >10K it is LOW or HIGH - means higher risk.
Decision to take a trade or not to take. Depends on bigger picture (daily) as well.
At the moment the trend is up: That means taking short trades are more difficult
and with higher risk anyway.
2) Monday was IFO day. The numbers are out from 10:00 to 10:30 - that gives the
trend and volume THERE is more important than from 9:00 to 9:30.
In fact before holidays - the IFO volume is not important.
3) Because of the green candle form 10:00 to 10:30 the direction was LONG.
The IFO candle gives the direction in any case.
You mentioned taking short trades is more difficult, given the current upward pressure. Why today did you decide to go short, just before the 500 level?
For this morning on my chart I have the period of the 9 until 9:30 period with a relatively low volume. How did you see it as high?- What do you use to gauge the volume?
Wednesday's trades normally are short after my system rules.
Please read the posts for Wednesday in this thread - answers are there.
Concerning my post "with IB vol high": that was a typo. Volume was
2787 contracts - which means low of course. As mentioned in my last
reply - this means "high" risk too.
As seen that Wednesday trade got some positive points on this short.
