I'm also having connection issues from Australia. Some ping data I found for Zenfire
"Run one of many ping programs that monitors for packet loss or no response against the IP. Do the same against an IP in the same vicinity of the Zen Fire IP, like Chicago area. If one IP losses connectivity and the other doesn't, you'll have insight into the problem."
"Zenfire API will connect to 64.202.118.230 for ordering and market data. Sadly, this IP does not respond to ping."
"Here you go, i found 5 IP addresses at 7ticks (who hosts zenfire) that responds to ping.
This is not their order or maket data server.. but this is the closest we may be able to reach by ping.
Basically you do not need to ping the servers. Mirus website could be enough because it is in Chicago.
Most of the time the junction is the real problem because it could be overloaded.
Talk to your ISP, maybe they can confirm that.
So it could be that the zen fire servers running ok but a junction in e.g. New York or wherever the junction is has issues. So the ping will raise and then you will get a package loss and that causes a connection loss to the zen fire servers.
I didn't experience any connection problems to Zen-Fire at all during the last 2 years from here.
The only exceptions are their typical / regular maintenance windows at the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) as already mentioned above.
