Hi all ... downloaded the wicked renko indicator but can't seem to import it into Ninja -- when I open up the unzipped folder, nothing shows although it is clearly sitting patiently (as I sit impatiently) on the desktop where I placed it during download. Any ideas?
There is a new type of Renko bar in the elite download section called BetterRenko.
Why create yet another Renko bar type? Because they are all broken and have issues backtesting. There are lots of flavors: Renko, SbsRenko, MedianRenko, WickedRenko. …
You have to move the cs to your Type directory, not Indicators directory, then restart Ninja.
Does anybody know if there is a bar timer or better yet a visual hi/low limit marker that supports WickedRenko? I use the jtRangeMarker for range bars and it is fantastic by the way; very easy to see the potential range and get your resting order in ahead of the market. I got spoiled and am too lazy to count ticks in my head. In theory renko is easy since the offset to the next bar is fixed but i when watching multiple markets it sure would nice to see a marker at the limits of the current, forming bar.
I didnt quite like the looks of BetterRenko, I like all candle bodies to have the same size. With BetterBrick, I didnt like all those extra mini-lines and the fact that wick-color was the same as body color, so when my indi changed the color of a bar, the color of the wick changed as well, see the included picture. So a way to get WickedRenko appearance with BetterRenko is to select SbsRenko as Chart Style in DataSeries. I hope this helps somebody. I can get WickedRenko appearance without having the mem-bug problems.
