Well, perhaps what I'm about to say it's not a solution for you but it's what I did for a long time.
IMHO, NT8 is still in a developing state, because memory issues continue all the time. I'm an old user of NT7, and despite it being an older version, it shows powerful management of your computer resources and still allows my simple automated Algos. For now, I'll continue with NT7. If I were you, I'd evaluate what I need to do in NT8 for my business and evaluate if that activity could be done through NT7.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
You should be re-starting your computer anyway, each and every day. I run one computer for non-trading purposes for my other business and it gets slow and non-responsive if I do not re-start every day. Just something about Windows... Also, you need to have a dedicated machine just for trading, making sure that there are not processes running in the background that "bloat" your system. Good luck!

When it comes to auto strategies I noticed it takes a lot from the PC/ speed etc.
I am not a current NT user but I run my auto strategies on CQG, Rithmic and sierra and very happy with the speed and execution ( not always with the trading results lol...).
PM with any questions about Cannon Trading (800) 454-9572 (310) 859-9572. Trading commodity futures, forex and options involves substantial risk of loss. The recommendations contained in this post are of opinion only and do not guarantee any profits. These are risky markets and only risk capital should be used. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results.
I found the MetTrader 5 is an excellent platform and it has Doteki Heikin Ashi.
Doteki Heikin Ashi is a volume indicator and shows where to get in and where to avoid. In this market you can just follow the trend, in and out.
Hi Deetee,
try these: https://www.remek.ca/blog/2019/11/4/nt8-slowing-down
Also, if you have a lot of data in C:\Users\...\Documents\NinjaTrader 8\db, delete all files in that folder EXCEPT NinjaTrader.sdf (if you delete NinjaTrader.sdf, you'll lose your trade records).
Best,
Bercee
If nothing works properly then re install windows after formatting the ssd drive or after installing a new ssd drive.
make shure you dedicate only that what you need for Ninja. No mails, browsers...nothing
Of course you must, before formatting the ssd or drive, save all you need ( templates, strategys etc...) on a usb that you can re use those parameters.
For formatting a ssd drive read carefully what you need to do otherwise you damage the ssd.
Your computer has a benchmark score 7,233. Eddie at "EZ Trading Computers" reccomends "the minimum Benchmark Score required to avoid slippage as a trader is 19,000". See his "Complete Guide to Trading Computers"
Good morning, as much of a hassle as this is for you, it is an opportunity (so I have found out myself) to learn more about your pc and NT.
1. Go to Tools, then Historical Data. Click on Market Replay and delete any historical data stored on your hard drive. My wife's PC had the hard drive full because of stored data.
2. Go to Tools, then Remove Ninjascript Assembly and remove any undeeded addons.
3. Go to Tools, then Database Management and Reset Database. You will have to restart.
4. Clean your cache on your PC.
5. Delete any unused apps on your PC.
6. If you are using your existing PC for internet searches and trading, consider getting a stand alone PC just for trading. Do not use the new PC for anything else than trading and keep your old PC for everyday stuff.
If you buy/build a new PC, go to "Passmark Software" and check the CPU speed of any chip you are considering. If you don't know this, your CPU speed is "7233" Yes, it will function if the above are in order, but a speed of at least double that would be better. Even my CPU of 18,500 could be faster.
Try closing any unused tabs.
Don't run other programs at the same time.
McAfee and Norton slow down NT in my experience.
