@economist99, thanks for your questions. The main difference between IQFeed and IB is that we provide every single trade (tick by tick) and IB provides snapshot data, IB is great for executing orders but not recommended for use in your analytical charts due to their trade data being bundled together.
Unfortunately I don't have much knowledge about MBTrading or OptionHouse Platforms.
IQFeed is an excellent value in comparison to other data vendors, even more so with the Big Mike Trading Elite Member Rates. Feel free to contact me with any more questions and I'll be happy to put a data package together that will meet your needs and your budget.
Thanks
James

Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
@IQFeed James I think I read somewhere that IQFeed provides daily Open Interest data for future contracts.
1) Is it possible to have this data in Ninjatrader platform?
2) If so how do you obtain it? Through a different instrument name?
3) If not in Ninja, is it available for MultiCharts?
Thanks for your questions. We do carry O/I data (daily, weekly, monthly) historical. However, I can’t speak specifically for NT and MC supporting the data. If you find that they don’t, our DTN.IQ client software provides this data for viewing, or you can use something like QCollector to access the historical data, write it to a file, and then do what you want with it. Another option is accessing the data via our API services.
Contact me if you have any more questions.
Thanks again

We had originally planned to release by now but in the name of ensuring adequate communication to our customers as well as ensuring full QA testing we have held off. We will be providing updates periodically regarding these changes as they happen which can be viewed directly on our DTN Forum. I have included a link below to our forum page for your convenience.
I want to introduce @IQFeed Dave to everyone. Dave Forss is the Business Development Manager at IQFeed and will be taking over the role of futures.io (formerly BMT) account specialist for all of our members.
You can contact him directly with any IQFeed related questions:
Phone: 402-255-8429, Email: [email protected]
You can also mention him by typing @IQFeed Dave to get his attention around the forum, if you need some help with something.
This thread is available for anyone to write a question about IQFeed and Dave will answer.
IQFeed has been a long term partner of futures.io (formerly BMT) and I want to remind everyone that if you are interested in their services, you can find special discounts available only to Elite Members by clicking 'Elite Members' top of any page. futures.io (formerly BMT) does not receive any compensation for any referrals in this program.
A new IQFeed client is available (5.2.0.9) but:
- it seems it's in 32 bit, like the previous version
- I didn't found any release notes about it
I don't care using a 32 bit application but I found that when you download historical data for a lot of instruments in parallel the client is crashing (problem seems to occur around 1000 symbols in parallel, iqconnect.exe asking for around 1 GB). Maybe a 64 bit version would have been more stable under high load?
Does IQ Feed have any plans for Asian market data services in particular HKFE? There are not many options for unfiltered data in this part of the world and I'm sure there would be a heap of people who would subscribe if there was such an offering.
Correction to earlier statement. You guys have some of the Asian markets covered.
