Before buying any retail trading algo, make sure to ask the following:
1) The algo's 3rd party verified 2 year trading track record
2) the algo's 3rd party verified live (real money) trading metrics, Minimum Requirements: WinRate=60%, R=1, MAX DD <= 10% over a 2 year period
3) The algo's PBO number. When backtesting how did they test for overfitting? What is their probability of backtest overfitting (PBO Number)?
4) The algo's sample space size for the backtests? Did they run the backtests with at least 8 years of intraday data?
5) How many strategies did they backtest on a single data path?
6) Did they run multi-path backtests?
7) Did they run Permutation tests?
8) Did they run Noise tests?
9) Did they run hundreds of monte carlo tests using the same trade metrics from their backtests as monte carlo input parameters?
10) Can they provide documentation that all testing was done by a certified 3rd party along with providing the actual test results?
you need to read all the attachments in the tweet. I'll copy it here:
Algobox only runs on NT8, a slow and buggy trading platform with the absolute worst execution performance of any retail trading platform. It is completely unstable in fast moving markets. What's funny is that Vinny told me back in 2019 that he bought Jigsaw so that he could reverse engineer it and put the Jigsaw features into algobox. Back in 2019 he was losing big with Algobox (check his C2 trading performance) and needed some winning features so he bought Jigsaw or so he claimed at the time. If Vinny has to buy Jigsaw to try to make Algobox profitable shouldn't traders just go to the source and buy Jigsaw? Jigsaw is a much faster and more stable platform than NT8. Your trade executions will be much better on Jigsaw.
