Just tried this in Advanced Search: Keywords: just Username: xplorer
So would be great to add the option to search for any keywords, not only the uncommon ones.
Other issue today is that, if you were in "Show results as Posts", once you get an error like the above, you will automatically be switched to "Show results as Threads" which means you need to manually switch back
In the new system there are around 100 stopwords that occurred with extremely high frequency (I think it was around 7% of every post). I can publish them so you know they will be discarded.
It will have no problem showing you all posts from your username.
The switching between posts and threads... I think we must settle on the overview being list of threads. But, I want an expansion for each post in the thread that matches. This is part of the difficult part (UX).
The advanced search we have today will probably be entirely gone, not to overwhelm with too many options.
- "indicator" search will be an option from the main drop-down. When choosing this option, we will look at the filename in the Downloads section, as well as attachment names within posts, and in both cases we will support searching inside of zip files.
This "indicator" mode is great both for members trying to find that indicator... but also for devs, beings able to quickly keyword search across tens of thousands of files. This mode is keyword match or partial match. Still supports negative exclusion as well.
- "regular" search will look at thread titles and post text, as well as letting you search for a user.
The "regular" search will be a semantic search capable, so it knows the context and will match ANN from the vector db. I'm also hopeful I can get text completion (text prediction) to work like what you see in Google.
There will be options for how the results are shown to you. At this point this has become the hardest part, conceptually.
Looks to be resolved. Best I can tell, some time this morning our ESP stopped delivering our mail, waiting for more $$ for another 100k emails. The moment I logged in to the dashboard, it started delivering emails -- but I was able very briefly to see a few thousand emails in backlog. They were cleared a few seconds later.
Never seen that before. Auto top offs working fine. No issues with card. No email from ESP. Going to assume it's a one-off gremlin for now.

NexusFi website improvement suggestions:
I'm guessing I'm an average user. I want 3 things from a NexusFi login session:
1) I want to make good user of my limited time: get in, get it, get out.
2) I'm looking for a particular info-needle in the NexusFi haystack
3) As a bonus: advise me of what's new and interesting ... tempt me
I have issues with:
1. The Search function:
- Results Display:
a) dropdown screen is too small, b) there is 'heading-text bleed' into the dropdown from other page text (see screenshot attached),
- Navigation:
a) if the Results dropdown list has a lot of rows/threads, once I've clicked on a number of them, I can't remember which ones I viewed, vs the ones that are still unread (i.e. no color-change on the clicked-on links), b) after I've clicked-on/read a thread, when I return to inspect more threads in my Search results, I have to re-enter the search terms in order to re-load the Results dropdown .... every. single. time.
(PS: My browser is Vivaldi)
2. Website navigation:
Assume I've been browsing the website for 90 minutes ... I'm many pages deep in some forum/thread , but now I'm done; I'll have to logout sometime, right? Currently I have to navigate back to Browse -> Return To Homepage, and then .... scroll a lllloooong way down to the bottom of page, and look in the far-right corner to find the Big Red 'Log Out USER' button. Suggestion: move the Logout function to the top right corner, as a sub-item within the 'Welcome, USER' control. Now it's instantly accessible from wherever I'm buried in the haystack ... easy and efficient.
3. What's New and Interesting:
The 'Best Threads' display lists 9 threads in the last month; I've checked them all out ... are there any more? Why not offer a 'Best X Threads' display, and let the User specify the value of X? 2023-12-10 00.29.52 nexusfi.com f65f3375aa74
Some relatively major backend changes were just now completed regarding our email infrastructure and the final migration of futures.io -> nexusfi.com (all email including help desk).
I am planning to announce a new monthly challenge. The user that has the most thanks received (the most helpful/most thanked) for the month will win their choice of a $50 Amazon gift card or a Free Elite Membership ($149) coupon that they can give away to whomever they wish.
