It will find usernames and file attachments. I still need to work to add downloads to it.

Columns: username, title

Negative operator supported. So for example:

Zen username:NinjaTrader -Raymond

Would find posts about Zen only written by NinjaTrader and not containing Raymond, for example.

Also -title:blah exclude results with thread titles containing blah.

I'll address all this in the UI update.

Is anyone NOT seeing the text highlighted in the red boxes?



I am going nuts trying to update the UI but it keeps serving an old version. Let me know if yours is different than mine please.

Also, for you guys to test, let me say negative operators are - and ! (hyphen and exclamation). Targetable columns are title and username.

So:
zen username:ninjatrader => will search for posts about zen authored by NinjaTrader.

ecuador !username:"big mike" => will search for ecuador for posts not made by Big Mike.

title:vwap !NT7 => search title only for 'vwap' and exclude NT7 matches in post.

The motto "move fast and break things" is alive and well.

The column targeting is not working completely correctly. The better approach would be my UI update that has a section for "excluded".

I'm also widening the search box, and will show the post preview on mouse over... Just as soon as I fix the gremlins.

Curious how this behaves for other users - I write something in the search bar, results appear. Now trying to modify the search term, I press the Left button. On half the pages, I get to move by one character to the left in the search term. On the other half of pages, I go back by one in browser history.

The behavior seems to be page-specific (on the homepage, the first behavior seems to be present, on any specific thread, the second seems to be present). Is this expected? When Im in some thread and I want to search for some other thread, being unable to edit the search term and moving in browser history instead is counterintuitive. Im on Chrome/Win.

The left arrow is a bug. I never anticipated someone using left/right arrow keys in the search bar (I never have, only backspace).

So it's picking up thread reading behavior to navigate pages of the thread. It can be fixed, I think.

Basic keyword search from search bar is already running the new system. You can try it now.
