For a while now, I have been discontent with the fact that I spend so much of my day sitting, (probably OVER 16 hours) and so little time active (1-2 hours at the gym), so I spent the morning setting up a temporary standing workstation to test it out before I spend money on a custom made desk.
Excellent experimental setup addchild.
I also sometimes get worried about the amount of time I spend sitting on a daily basis.
Please keep us posted about what kind of changes you feel in switching over to the standing workstation, in a few weeks time.
I love the stand up desk...it is actually a coffee table from Ikea on top of my regular desk. Great for trading, but for "typical" work, stuff like spread sheets, research, writing letters or any type of paper shuffle it is not so good. For that stuff I use the credenza and the return, but they are sometimes a little tight.
I think the standing desks are a great idea.
However, after sitting in the office during the day, I'm ready to kill it in the gym.
Maybe I could try both.
