When I clicked that link, I absolutely did not expect nor agree to having my email given to a third party that I have never heard of. I was expecting some sort of landing page with information about the offer.

There is currently an issue with linking to other posts -- results are showing the first post of the linked thread, instead of quoting the actual post you link to.

Tried to solve but more tricky than expected, so it goes on my list.

Corrected a bug with the auto-quote selected text feature. It no longer copies the selected text into your clipboard until the moment you click the 'quote' button. Previously, it would enter your clipboard immediately and this can cause unexpected results.

As always, report any issues.

You had appropriate precautions in place to prevent an outage, which should have switched over to other servers in case of an issue, and then that protection failed. I'm sure you will find the cause of it, but it's a simple fact that with hardware, something can and eventually will go wrong. You make the provisions that you can, as well as you can, and realize that nothing is perfect. Not a problem, Mike. Bob.

Yeah I've got two data points now. It's happening when we init for backup, some sort of issue that it doesn't recover from and prevents server migration to another cluster node because the VM is in a locked status state -- normally only for 1 second or less, but for hours in the two data points I have so far.

The first one, the site stopped responding. The second one which happened last night, it threw off one of our incoming load balancers but the other remained working so site stayed up.

I made some changes to the backup settings today and will keep thinking about how to prevent this in the future.

I found the problem, and unfortunately, others with the same problem and support trying to solve but haven't so far. For now, I am going to try some workarounds that will cause a couple minutes of downtime for backups but should be stable and reliable. About to test that now.

So 5 minutes should be the mark of max downtime for an old-fashioned backup to take place while I wait for a solution. Scheduled for 5pm Eastern as that is lowest activity of the day.
