Does anyone know if you can trade FDAX once you are funded and complete 10 days of live trading? In the website it says, once you complete 10 days of live trading then ICE and EUREX products are available to be traded? Pls confirm if you know anything to this regard. Thanks.
FDAX is not available in the Combine. Once you are funded you have the datastream of FDAX and you can trade it.
This was the answer I got from TST 5 months ago.
Hi Autotrader. This will make you sick, but here is how it played out. Winning combine, day 10 up twice the required target, every rule enforced. Ok I've got it. Just close a trade and end this nonsense.
Launched my server and retired to the restroom. The the following events are so unlikely, it's like telling the Proctologist that you just slipped on the floor and whoops.. NT opens up to the main UI, nothings open there is nothing to trigger a trade. EXEMPT hot keys tied to quant strategies I was testing at the time. I come back to the computer and this little guy
is lying on the keyboard. I pick him up and notice a strategy is active. As everyone know, Ninjatrader is NOT the platform to run real strategies, as they, regardless of the setting, will fill historical triggers time to time. So bub bought me some oil and triggered my daily loss limit of, I think it was $500.
So, yes I'm trading my own capital. And just bought a new F-Type! That's my little bro in the passenger seat.
Although I make my living as a software engineer, my trading covers the payment. Full disclosure, my mom took that picture. I do NOT subscribe to common held philosophy nice stuff = success. That word in and of itself is so subjective, add it to a myopic view point and you get a turd that stains the ignorant. hahah. Life make me laugh. 20 years ago, that was me.
i digress, I'm doing well without the pressure of having a fund looking over my shoulder. like @iqgod said earlier in this thread, it's like high school.
But, I'm not going to lie, I still want to "get" funded. So, two years later, today actually, just started a 100K combine that will mirror my personal trades. Freeing up ~100K would be nice.
But I've got a whole new mindset to this trading thing. I don't stress. I follow very simple rules and basically trade the tape. My only concrete rule is to gut of trades that do not move how and more importantly WHEN you expected it too. The stall is the markets only "tell" I've found so far.
So now just trade how I want to. I don't blog about it (like I'm blatantly contradicting by writing this), journal, post charts, talk about it like I'm some financial guru because i can make an educated guess. It's like writing about every time you made a right turn today while driving because is was that or running it a tree. don't need to write a dissertation every time we make a mistake. But it was a fun way to learn constraints. TS did wonders for my trading skill.
But I'm just a guy who is a calculated gambler. Along with every other trader. And now enjoy it. However, since I mentioned it, I will post in 10 days the resuls of my grab at the 100K.
