As far as I know, if it can be done in C++, Sierra will do it. There are alot of things I haven't tried, though, so someone please correct me if this is not true - but that is my understanding (and I believe also stated as such in the documentation on Sierra's site - if I remember correctly).
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
About backtesting, the only backtesting that works correctly is market replay. Ninjatrader works great at 500x forward speed for market replay. I asked multicharts and their maximum speed is only 100x.
This indicator shows Times and Sales on your chart in MultiCharts. I didn't personally test it, but users say it works great. It's a PLA archive, just download and double-click it to import.

We can discuss the technical features of NinjaTrader and MultiCharts, but certainly not the marketing side.
The idea to force potential customers into a Facebook account is absolutely ridiculous. If MultiCharts want to sell their software to customers who actually use it for trading their accounts, they should target the typical trader, who I believe is male, over 50 years old and has accumulated enough money to trade an own account.
This target group is not on facebook. I do not have a facebook account and I will not open an account, just because a software seller asks me to do so.
The marketing of NinjaTrader is ways more clever. You can download the software for free, you can play around with it, code sophisticated indicators, use the simulation feature. You only have to buy it, if you want to connect it to an account. I bought the NinjaTrader license a few years ago, as I wanted to connect it to my real account. That marketing approach worked for NinjaTrader.
I think that MultiCharts is an interesting alternative to NinjaTrader, but why should I spend $ 1,200 or become a member of Facebook (this would not even allow me to code any indicators) just to find out how it works? Could it be that MultiCharts merits a better marketing?
I thought my first post will be different but I just have to do it. Seriously, you guys need to take a break. You can try Multicharts for free for 30 days without need to have FB account (which was said already earlier but seems lot of ppl missed it). Same goes for paid version. So whats the problem? Let me guess. You looking for high quality software for free. Seriously? How many things you get really for free? I personally don't see anything wrong what so ever with this marketing strategy. I switched from NT to MC DT and never looked back. I like the product, I want Multicharts to evolve so I recommended it to few other real traders not only because I think its a great product but I also see steady progress and competent development and support team. I'm thinking about buying it in the future. Thats how it works. Most real traders I know are at 25-35 years range... To Multicharts: keep up good work and good luck.
I think it's time to put an end to this pointless discussion. MultiCharts DT is a free quality product that a team of 40 people spent 6 years creating - all we ask for giving it away is that you tell others about it. If you don't like it, or the Facebook requirement - nobody is forcing you to use the product. There is always the free 30 day trial of the full product with no such requirement, so there's nothing more to discuss.
But as long as you are using our product, don't act in bad faith. Everyone has to go through our site to get MCDT and posting a direct link is a violation of our policy. Beside it just being a rude move on your part, it'll do no benefit in the long-run. Please remove that link, or we'll just have to make it dynamic.
