Good morning so far for me. 8.4 in profit after fees, commissions and slippage.
Ive made some stupid errors which upset me. Not trading errors but software errors but nevertheless errors. Need to get these under control as Im live now and you can't erase these errors like you can on a sim.
Question if anyones listening?
I would consider 8.4 a good day. Not a great day but definitely doable as far as consistency I believe.
SHOULD I JUST STOP!?!
Im thinking of switching to sim just to satisfy the trading itch.
Unless you are changing platform/broker or refining/testing new indicator that you developed, there is no real reason to go back to sim ones you start trading with live account.
Trying to balance posting realtime and not posting too much. Not sure if I should wait and post all or if this is ok to post as I explain my thoughts and trades realtime.
Just can't stay away lol. Going to switch to sim now as I'm up 15.4 points in after hours trading. Along with 9.4 points this morning for a total of 24.8 points (as usual this is after all commissions, fees, and slippage)
Really noticing lately that I need to quit while I'm ahead. This one idea alone I think could save me alot and put me so much farther ahead of where I would be when I push it too much and end up giving a good chunk back.
Hi Sandpaddict
well done on the journal
I like your spirit, hunger and drive.
I was curious why you switched to Sim mode. You mentioned you thought you might be over trading...I can understand how switching to sim can be beneficial...
I was curious when you over trade do you tend to take less then optimal trades ? and thus start drifting away from your normal signal ?
Hi JBWTrader. The recognition goes along way. Thank you very much!
Yes absolutely. And for me it's not necessarily just over trading but as you said taking less than optimal trades, cutting winners, reversing losers out of impatience and then reversing again taking two big losses instead of one small win.
But MOSTLY its because I want to end on a equity high that Im super happy with.
Theres almost always that point in the day where you look back and go... man, had I just stopped there for the day... But like my name implies I love to trade so I switch to sim for the rest of the session to SAVE MYSELF FROM MYSELF.
By the way this is new. And Im just experimenting with this idea.
