Big Mike has mentioned in the other Ichimoku Thread to start an exclusive Ichimoku discussion thread. As I have been a follower of Ichimoku Kino Hyo since about a year and seen an immence improvement in my trading, I will be sharing …
I have been following this thread for long. I was also awaiting a logical conclusion - the final correct version of Ichimoku Cloud for Ninjatrader 7. But alas! things got more confusing with so many indicators. I tried with a few of them but could not see the forward cloud which is special feature of ichimoku SSA and SSB. I wish the experts here give their final vote for right one. The Aachimoku submitted by gordo does not show the clouds ahead. Please help us identify the right Ichimoku Indicator as so much valuable efforts have gone into its buildup by the expert members. Thanking in advance.

I have not come across a single ichimoku Indicator on Ninja which gives a correct plotting. So I personally use Think or Swim for charting purpose and Ninja for my trade execution. I do not open any Ninja Charts. Only the Ninja Dome for trades.
I wonder when will Ninja have the capabilites to plot the future cloud.
Just my two words on Ichimoku.
Thanks
Steve

I have not tried the latest Ichimoku Indicator on Ninja. I tried it in the past and the plotting was always different, and ofcourse no future cloud. If it is giving the correct plotting, I am happy to hear that. However, I would stick to my decision to charting from ToS.
Just my personal choice.
Thanks
Steve

Anyone may obviously use whatever platform they prefer, and for whatever reason. But if you're making statements about another platform you ought to verify them.
"of course no future cloud" is not a matter of personal choice, it's an incorrect statement. The cloud is plotted in the future.
Also, 'different' plotting doesn't necessarily mean it is incorrect, and the only way to find out is to compare the indicators and look at the calculations. I've looked at the NT indicator and as far as I know it is accurate; if it isn't I'd like to know what's wrong so that it can be fixed.

OOPS
Seems a few of my friends got upset with my statement. Therefore to ONE and ALL, I apologise and withdraw my statement. Henceforth no statement will be made from the undersigned with regards to the comparison of different platforms.
Yes Sir, you are right that the future cloud is being plotted. The statement being made with regards to other / different platform was because of my personal and past experience. Once I had seen that there was not future cloud plotting, I shifted to ToS and like I said there after I never tried Ichimoku Indicator on Ninja.
You are also correct in saying that ...... 'different' plotting doesn't necessarily mean it is incorrect' ....... As I am not a computer techie or a computer programmer so I do not know which is correct and which is incorrect and that being the reason I would not be able to pin point which one is correct and which one is not.
My apologies once again for coming out with the satement that I had made earlier.
Here on I shall avoid partcipating in any suggestions with regards to trading with Ichimoku or its platforms and / the indicator plotting.
Thanks
Steve

I was not at all upset, as there's nothing personal in it. If someone says an indicator I have is incorrect I naturally want to know what they mean so that I can correct any problem. Wouldn't you?
