I get it almost every time I go. I normally add a side of their squash casserole too. Man, they have the best hamburgers I've ever had. Use organic grass-fed beef. The buns are the same bun that Holman Finch uses here in Atlanta on their famous double cheeseburger that they used to make only 24 of a night starting at 10pm and became a cult classic. They're now on the menu all the time there. I still haven't had one yet. But you can buy the buns yourself from H&F bakery also in Atlanta. They supply about 400 restaurant with buns. The bun really helps make it.
I always leave the tomato and lettuce off, and just put on the fried pickles and onion, and mayo on the bun, and ask for jalapeños on it. My buddy always get the rocket burger. A regular cheeseburger with jalapeños and pepper jack cheese. Be sure to report back when you get it. And pics.
Clove and Hoof in Oakland is probably the best burger I have ever had. I'm conflicted about sharing this as I want them to stay in business and still be able to drop in whenever. It's expensive, your order will be wrong, and it will take kind of a long time, but you won't care. You will eat too much, and you will know you are eating to much, but it will seem to not really matter. Get the fries too.
Yep. It was all that and more! seriously, a tasty sandwich..nothing crazy but good. We had some homemade mushroom soup and homemade cake for desert...all good..the ambiance sealed the deal: a small pub (no windows, just a door with a small sign off the main street, that you might miss if you weren't looking), friendly staff, good beer, dimly lit, and tasty food. I'll be back..
