Do you all think that it's important to have all screens in a multi screen setup be identical or the same model/age? ie I have 3 24" BenQ 1920x1200 TN based screens, if I want to add say 1 or 3 more, should I bother trying to get identical ones, or perhaps just go for some newer 24" or 27" IPS screens?
I have a total of 6 monitors and one is an oddball. The only thing I notice about it is the color is slightly different on the one screen. I might be able to adjust it to be closer or maybe not. Haven't tried really. But for charts I don't think different monitors really matter. I tried watching a movie on all 6 screens once ... that lasted about 15 seconds

warranty issue!
call their support and describe what you just said!
see what they do to make it right, and if they give you any grief, then blast them here, and let us all know what make/model it is
Maybe I wasn't clear, 5 monitors are some other brand that I can't remember and only a year old and the 6th is a dell refurb from 4 years or so ago. The color difference doesn't bother me as it's just charts I use the computer for. Futures op was asking about mixing monitors, I don't think it's a big deal for trading. If your gaming or watching movies that's something else
Sure, if you trade one or two products only and if you prefer the singular focus of what you are trading (some might call it myopic, some might call it simply focused) and don't need to see anything else. Otherwise, two is simply not enough.
I agree with that. I traded 4 markets and went down to trading only on and use 2 monitors to have the desired information for that market. Result my P/L went up because I do not get frustrated because I missed a trade because I was watching another instrument and then I was getting more frustrated when I missed another setup on the other instruments etc..
No I use 2 for trading and on is for distraction email etc the 4 is turned of, will be the donor monitor for my 3 year old kid
