In NinjaTrader you just need to select the Typical Price as input series.
The resulting moving average is a pivot moving average.
Thanks for the advice
so I should plot the PMA based on the 60min or the daily?
also are you on stock twits?
take care
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?

Hey FAt Tails,
Should I use the SMA or EMA when attempting to plot the PMAs?

Both is possible, but again, what do you intend to do with it?

to guage whether the market is bearish bullish neutral or confused etc
also to make the "fake out" trades mark fisher is referring in his book.
I'm just trying to follow what fisher teaches in his book.
Only problem is the platform I am using won't let me use PMA's so I am not sure how I can use them (maybe run a demo copy of Ninja while im trading with Firetip)

Not to rain on anyone's parade but, in a recent webinar I saw someplace I think it was Traders Exclusive, Fisher admits that he no longer uses the ACD method. He has found that in todays' futures markets the methodology is no longer valid. I think the webinar might be archived. I'm just trying to save you guys hours of learning a method that isn't of use even to it's creator.

Oh great, I just read the whole book.......thinking it is a useful system.
What is so different to todays futures markets compared the 2001 era
Thanks for the heads up though..... I am attempting a manual backtest in excel.
I am assuming that webinar is only available to the "elite" members?
