If everything we attempted in life were achieved with a minimum of effort and came out exactly as planned, how little we would learn — and how boring life would be! And how arrogant we would become if we succeeded at everything we attempted. Failure allows us to develop the essential quality of humility. It is not easy — when you are the person experiencing failure — to accept it philosophically, serene in the knowledge that this is one of life’s great learning experiences. But it is. Nature’s ways are not always easily understood, but they are repetitive and therefore predictable. You can be absolutely certain that when you feel you are being most tested, you are being prepared for great achievement.
The end of the rainbow is reached only at the end of the second mile.
Christ’s admonition to the faithful in Matthew 5:41: “And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain,” was in response to the Roman custom of allowing officers to force others to carry their load for a mile. The purpose of the biblical principle, similar to the idea of turning the other cheek, was to make good come from evil. You can add goodness to goodness by rendering beyond what you are asked to do.
In today’s interdependent society, it is virtually impossible in any business, profession, or occupation for an individual to achieve great heights of success without the help of others. The best way to get friendly cooperation is to give it. When you make it a practice to encourage others and to help them advance in their careers whenever possible, most will reciprocate when you need their help. Give generously, and you will benefit in kind.
Money has no character, no personality, no values. Its actions only reflect the desires of its owner. Money can build great hospitals and schools, or it can be gambled away or squandered on meaningless possessions. Money may build museums to house beautiful works of art, it may construct beautiful houses of worship — or it may be used to create instruments of war and destruction. As you build your personal wealth, make sure you build your character by setting aside a portion of your income to help others. Choose a church, a charity, or a cause that you can enthusiastically support. Then give of your money and your time in support of that cause. The primary beneficiary of such noble actions is always the one who gives, not the one who receives.
Don’t be fooled by people who attempt to further their own interests under the guise of helping you. Listen to advice from others, thank them for their interest, and make up your own mind about what is best. Follow their advice if it fits with your plan for your life, but don’t hesitate to discard it if it doesn’t. In all the world, there is only one individual who knows what is best for you, and that person is you.
Don’t leave something as important as your character to chance. Choose the character traits you admire, and work to develop them. Don’t be discouraged when you stumble. Building character is a process that takes a lifetime to complete. Fortunately, like anything else, the more you work at character building, the better you become at it.
Many religious writings and great literary works are based upon the constant struggle between good and evil that goes on inside every one of us. This struggle is as old as mankind itself. Yet, while we recognize our own inner struggles, we are often quick to condemn others.
Make it a point to look for the good in yourself — and in others.
Nurture the good character traits and work on the ones that may need improvement. Like plants in a garden, the character traits that grow strong and productive will be those that are fed, watered, and weeded regularly.
Recently I have been thinking about my friends and the 2 year wall.
My orientation to life is positive.
"The great secret to life is that if you think positively you will get positive results, and if you think negatively you will get negative results." NV Peale via "The Strangest Secret" - Earl Nightingale recording (see visualization thread).
So to me the question is not:
"Is life positive or negative"?
but rather, since I want my life to be positive, happy productive and add to the well-being of all -
"How can I maintain a positive cheerful optimistic outlook in the face of a world that is often cynical negative and limitation bound?"
Therefore is it not - what is reality? But rather how can I fashion a positive creatively joyful reality. So my stance is not to be reactive to outside stimuli but rather procreative and generate internal stimuli that in line with my desire to create the life/reality I choose. The entire matter is to bring the power of creation back to ourselves.
The external world, and especially the MSM has a vested interest in drawing our attention to the negative, the fearful and the ugly. It is how they sell their newspapers, internet channels and TV. Like the mafia they profit from fear and terrorizing and intimating. It is what they are. It is not evil until I let it in, until I accept their selective external stimuli as the creative source for my thinking, react to it and let it shape my thoughts and vibrations.
"When you react to someone, you are letting them control you." - B Proctor, The Science of Getting Rich.
(Though of course the vast majority give MSM ear (under the guise of "keeping informed") it is evil -very very evil.)
So back to the central thought
"How to create a mind that creates success and positivity?"
1. Create a goal (a specific goal)
2. Create a vision of that goal
3. Write out a plan of how to bring that goal from thought-form into concrete form.
"...reduce your plan to writing if you have not already done so. The moment you have done this, you will have DEFINITELY given concrete form to the intangible DESIRE." Napoleon Hill "Think and Grow Rich" p129 - cp 1947.
When you are feeling depressed, bring into your mind the joyful positive future self you are in the process of manifesting. Abandon all feelings of depression and feel the joy your new reality will be, in the now, in the present. Bring the future to the present.
