What was removed was the number of threads and number of posts statistics, which I would imagine you were not using all the time. The other part that was removed was the title of the last post of a section. This information is contained within the "New Posts" button on the navbar but categorized as a list of new posts instead of just one post per subforum.
On a site where there are usually hundreds of posts per day, I didn't think seeing the last five or so posts on the homepage would make any difference. You can also still see recent posts in the chatbox, and again it will display a list which I believe is more useful than just the single most recent post per section.
are you seeing many incoming links from the twitterverse? I followed one yesterday. I found a post I would not have seen otherwise....(because of the large volume of posts you get) I think it is a nice idea and interesting way of pushing certain parts of the site as well as reaching possibly a different audience. Nice Job.

Perhaps a design compromise is to use a smaller window on top of the page for tweets to just show the last tweet with a vertical scroll bar for those who value older tweets from the 400 gurus that drop in.
You can send me a PM. The widget only has a dark and light theme, no customizable options -- and I couldn't figure out the CSS for it yet or if it was even possible.
