Really enjoying many folks relating old floor trading on the CBOT. I left there in '98 after many years on the floor as a local with my dad and brother. Things were different then. When I first started at the CBOT for Kidder-Peabody as a very young clerk there was still a smoking pit. That dates me, I know.
Anyway, excellent forum! I'm pretty sure my username will give me away to a few folks.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I'm new to the forum, so as I get some time I'll visit occasionally.
I have some experience with buy & hold dividend stocks and have a small portfolio I plan on growing and re-investing for the rest of my life.
Since I have to watch the stocks in my portfolio anyways, I've become interested in options. At this point I've lost more money than I've made with options. So I'm doing a bunch of paper trades in the Think or Swim platform to learn what I'm doing better. The newest strategy I'm practicing is inspired by Karen The Supertrader, and I would like to start making the switch to real money after a few more months practice.
I'd like to learn about futures and option contracts on futures.
Joined up a while ago, I mainly trade daily and 4hr harmonic patterns with supp and res, trade using MT4 and spread bet my trades here in the uk as it's tax free
Don't know if i can be of any help but if I can just let me know.
Newbie to a form here.lol... I'm a recent graduate of Online Trading Academy.. Currently working on blowing up my first futures account.. "Seriously not trying too"; but it seems like most new trader like myself struggle with the Market mind game.. If anyone else in here trades Supply and Demand Zone style trading I'll be glad to trade along side of you.. Ummm a little about me.. I'm a SFC in the United States Army.. I've been serving for the past 10 years.. I used to love it.. But not so much these days.. Looking to become a full time professional trader.
ok .. well I guess this is good for my first ever post on a forum.
I have been trading for 3 years trying to figure out my style, I tend to trade the Eurostoxx50 futures on a spread bet account, I day trade and never carry over trades, I havent figured out if i am a trend trader or a scalper i want to be a trend trader but pull the trigure when i see some green.
First off let me say great job on the forum. Second its good to be in great company with all of you. I've been trading for 5 years and my story is not different then any others experience starting out. It only took me loosing 5k to revamp, write a plan, and stick to it. After practice trading for 2 years I began trading again both equities and currencies.
Through the help of many people I've removed most of myself (mental) from my trading. I am here to learn and share what little I know. I am finance major and have taken part of the CFA exams (fundamental stuff). I trade price action and volume and no longer rely solely on the fundamentals.
Trade well and I look forward to learning from you all.
I found your forum while searching for NT related subjects. Thanks for sharing your story and providing a place where traders can learn and share in a good environment.
I use Thinkorswim to trade options and recently became interested in trading futures with NT, so I hope to learn from the information here.
Hello everyone, I kept landing on Big Mike's while researching futures daytrading with TopDog course. I've started trading stocks in 1997 and lost a boat load, then again in 2003 with futures and Woody. Lost another load. Back again here 2 years ago and have lost slowly for the whole time. I think i might have learned to stop loosing. I've never actually seen anyone make money trading, so I don't know if I believe anyone really does. Maybe they all just sell lessons. I have learned Barry Burns trend method with 5 energies and can do well simming. But can't get off the ground with real money. So I am here and plan on learning more. I feel I am very close. I have developed a lot of patients. Thanks for listening.
