....yes, it was. and I have been glad afterwards, that I was not too much rude to the lady of the internet provider. Actually she suggested the solution with the cable and I had the chance to apologize immediatly.....
I haven't had any issues since I restarted all of my network hardware. It may have been an errant network problem that allowed my other internet services to work but not a reliable connection that NT required.

Our life is our own today. Tomorrow you will be dust, a shade, a tale that is told. Live mindful of death, the hour flies.
Not doing anything too special, and using a pristine installation of NT8 (i.e. I decided to not migrate my NT7 installation, so starting from scratch).
And yet, even with minimal usage, I have experienced some 3-4 crashes already.
This number is high, considering I have used constantly the platform for less than 8 hours overall.
In comparison, I used NT7 for over a year and I think it crashed once or twice.
I am relaying the issues to NT support but boy is it annoying.
Are you using custom indicators or strategies? If so, they need to be checked out.
It's working great for me, far better than NT7, but getting to this point hasn't been easy.
I think people might need more customized assistance than the free support that @NinjaTrader provides.
That's a bit of a quandary for Ninjatrader since they can't give free consulting assistance to all the users who seem to need it, but risk turning people off with a high performing, but finicky, product.

@xplorer : Have you isolated the problem? what happens if you don't use one, or both, of them?
Those misleading, amateur-coded Renko bar types, with their fictitious plotted values and removal of already plotted bars, are high risk.
Particularly if you try to use them with Tick Replay. Better to use range based Renko style bars that show the actual OHLC values and never remove previous bars. Also a good idea to use indicators that are not dependent on or directly correlated to the price of your traded instrument, but that's a whole other story.
